Thank you Ben.

Kind of been quite out there Mark. Hopefully you are enjoying the heck out your trucks!

Yes for sure that is a great resto.
Went completely through the pages as I am approaching a similar resto to my 45. Going with a Mercedes 606 with M pump, but mostly stock body parts. However I am interested in the power steering you did very nice and was helpful as to when I do the same with mine. I do have a question about your spring lift as I like the rubber shoes you have installed just looks like it should be there. If you would be so kind to give me that figure of lift from stock it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Skip thanks, the lift is the stock springs that I had a good spring guy rearch. It equates to a approximately 1 1/2 to 2" lift from stock height. I also had him add a left to the front to compensate for the factory PTO winch up front. Over time that factory winch does settle the front springs a little. It's working out great for me.

The power steering box is from FJ60 and the pump is a 4Runner with a remote reservoir mounted to the fender. I wanted to keep all of the stock parts under the hood. I do know that my friend had to move the left front shock a very small amount rear wards to accommodate the FJ60 steering box. I didn't do the work.

Ken doing great, how about yourself. Are going to the 45 run? I may be able to make it, just not sure yet. We had Heath issues with both of our moms over the last several months so I've been real busy. Things are going great at the moment. Just thought I share my latest FJ45. Everyone loves pictures.

Just wanted to chime in and repeat some of the other positive comments on "Sage".....wow

No matter how many times I clean steering fluid out of the engine bay, it'll still be no where like yours! Also thanks for posting those nice pics of the underside-- good enough for a poster imho...I've never even seen a functioning pto linkage for the landcruiser

Hope to meet you at the 45Run

I would love to take all the credit but a good friend did most of the work. I did however do my part as well. It was a lot of work "14 months" but worth every minute. Lots of comments everywhere I go. Not the reason I did but cool none the less.

Here is a recent photo. I was very lucky! And humble.

TNX for the input, As for the the movement of the 60 box and the shock mount any way you could give me a strong educated guess on the measurement. If not I guess I will have to punt later. Anyhow I have built other cars and know the feeling of great accomplishment you are feeling.

It looks like 3/4" but I would measure with the FJ60 box and see for sure.

Hey Mark,
Doing well other than a minor separating of my left my AC shoulder due to a mountain biking incedent. Just not as young as I used to be. Anyhow, yes, we are going to the 45 run. We are not camping (injury) but are staying local (glam ping)with good friends. Hope to see you there! Your threads have been missed. 3 nice 45's. Just not fair! I only have 2! :)

Went back to page 3 and looked at the steeeing box and fender mod makes scense to the measurement you gave me, TNX for the help on that one. Going to be nice not to strong arm that thing around. Guess we are spoiled. Remember in the 50ties unless you were moving it was hard to turn the wheel.

Thanks Peter.

Hi Ken, sorry to hear about your shoulder. Very painful I'm sure. At the Fire Department we used to call that the 18 year old brain in a 40+ body Injury.

Regards
Mark

That's funny! I was actually following my 18 year old son when it happened. He stopped to wait for me and ended up watching the whole thing go down.

I did not use anything extra. All stock as far as sound proofing goes.

I did use the Raptor coating on the under side for the wear properties. We also used it in the high use areas, floor boards and the bed. It's a really product and I am very happy with it. I was a little skeptical at first and wanted only paint, but am sure I would have a ton of chips if had not used it.
