hey what distrubutor did you use. mine on my land cruiser is shot the vaccum line is all crusted over with some battery acid or something. i took it out but i dont want to put the stock one back in cause the guy near me wants 200 for a rebuilt one and i want to go points was wondering if you put a aftermarket one in and what kind.

I've got an Early/Non-US Toyota distributor in mine, the difference is it's vacuum advance instead of retard (popular mod for de-smogged US rigs). I also replaced the points with a Pertronix electronic ignition.

Hey Tucker, Nice Rig! Looks good in black with those wheels. Bet it wheels good too! It sounds like a mountain of work, but worth it.

You know, I've seen quite a few cruisers who's owners painted black and I never have thought that it worked for the trucks. Because of the detail and lack of long clear sculpted surfaces I guess.

but yours works for me, Tucker. I think it looks damned sharp .... except maybe for those wheels :)

Sharp

The black is sharp as a tack. I like the wheels too. It looks real good.

Looks like she's got the cruiser lean to the left. I love em.

Do that rear bumper ever catch on anything while off road. It kinda hangs down a bit?

Sweet rig.

Tucker-

I would love to see the underside of your sliders, I really like the look of them, would you shoot a few pics and post 'em up?

Thanks!

Jim-

I should have known you would be behind such cool looking sliders man, we may need to start talking here before too long. ;)

I ran carnage last weekend and can really see the need for them now.

Hey Tucker;
That looks just like my '76 fj40:) I really like black with a grey top and white bezel. Mine used to look that good, but 10 years of beating the crap out of it on the trail has taken it's toll.

Tucker:
Here's mine before the top blew into a hundered pieces on the trailer in Kansas crosswinds on I-70 b/t Moab and MO...the pic was taken at Disney OK on a big rock sluice under one of the dam outlets.

Mines SUA, on BDS 4" springs. I pulled *2* leaves out of each corner to get it working like that.
Pretty wierd, cause TornadoAlleyCruiser and I put the same springs on, at the same time. He's pulled *no* leaves, and his works better yet than mine:(

I'll never buy BDS again. They sucked on my 60 too. I'd go Alcan or HFS next time.

I went this route cause I'm a huge baby about off camber stuff. I wanted to keep my center of gravity as low as possible. I'm working on ways to make it lower yet...
