Speed Liner Set Back

My day started off with a call from the painter that he had completed speed lining the Pig, so I drove down for a look see.. the color was horrible it came out pale yellow nothing at all like Cygnus White. The painter said he used the correct color code and then told me the Kevlar that is added as a hardening agent is tan in color and changed the color. So a warning , if you want to color match speed liner make sure you have a chance to test the color before its applied, they can add tint to correct the color, which he should have done. At this point I really do trust his ability to get it right so I told him to shoot it white. OH YEAH!!! ITS GOING TO COST MORE. But it will be one quiet Pig

Lou,

Did you get any photos of the Speedliner? I would like to see how it turned out. I know that the color is what you wanted, but how was the overall quality? You are going to have one awesome 55 when it is all done.

Ryan.

Hey Ryan thanks for the support, your rig and that suspension flex is extreme I can't wait to see that monster on the trail ...No I was so shocked by the color and the fact I trusted he would get it right I did not shoot any pic's. The quality was also in question, some area's were so thin you could see primer and other area's where very thick. Crossing my fingers he gets it right this time.

I worked out a reasonable deal with the speedliner shop, the plan is to shoot a light coat of adhesive as contact base then shoot the new speedliner. The plan is to use the cygnus paint code but increase the white tint so it should come out closer to cygnus. Should be completed this week , IPOR & COMPANY are ready with, new RAM JET & H55, Powersteering, Front Procar buckets, matching rear bench, tuffy box, Gen II vintage A/C. Custom front bumper & IPOR rear bumper with tire carrier. Dyna Pad on the floor and custom carpet. I'll keep ya posted

Lou,

As always, when the speedliner place gets finished lets see some photos! I will need to take mine back in for some touchup after I get it running, shouldn't be too long now. Too bad we are't going to make that Christmas deadline.

Nothing new to report on my 55. Ironpig Offroad is moving down the street. So thought I'd post some pics of Clay's 55 rear tire carrier,ARB rack. This is the same carrier and rack I plan on putting on my pig. Ironpig built!!

I really would like to find a Con-Ferr rack for that classic look. I have not seen any good pics of the new Defender rack that looks like the Con-Ferr. Anybody seen this rack in person or know anyone who wants to unload a full lenth Con-Ferr. What do you think of the ARB?

I really like the looks and quality of the ARB rack it is a nice system. Good news on your bumper too, it will look even better then Clay's, do to the changes Lance made in the design (moved the spindle, formed tire carrier, rear extension to cover more of the space between the body and bumper) I can't wait to see your truck on the road.

Ryan thanks for your input, I checked out that Defender Rack online and it does look like the Con Ferr, Offroad Unlimited took over when Con-Ferr closed there doors. But the ARB is really well built, so if I have any money left when I'm done I'll get it. I can always crack the "Piggy Bank"
for a little extra cash! I bought some 'Bling" on Ebay , Mickey Thompson MTZ 33x12.5/15 on Dick Cepek's DC-1 15x10.

Bloody Excellent job all round mate!! Love the bumper work, definetly inspirational! My brother keeps bugging me to let him make a new roo bar for mine, reckon i might have to let him after seeing yours...

Thanks, Should be road ready in 4 to 5 weeks . Lance and his crew have two trucks to complete, Ryan Scott's 55 and another rig that's time sensitive, Everything is ready to go just waiting for front and rear bumper and skid plate to return from the powder coater and a lot of detail stuff, weather strip, Hannline three in one gauges and A/C. My only concern is rust so I might drop my headliner which I want to replace cus its gray, I have a white one i got from SOR and check the roof. If there's any rust on the ceiling I might remove the roof, Andre did his in a few hours and found all kinds of creature's crawling around. I'm planning a frame off resto in a year but if there's anything major in the roof I'd fix it now plus it would give Lance and crew a clean plate for a roll cage they could drop in. Ya'll are killing my piggy bank , I'm begging ,stop coming up with any more idea's. Lance said he would cut my internet cable if I forward any more Mud threads!! How about cutting my roof??

Power Steering

Spent all day at Iron Pig Offroad, They are still getting the new shop set up, so I was able to work on the under side of my hood, I took it down to bare metal, two coats of acid primer, and two coats of primer which will get painted Cygnus next week. I ordered six rattle cans from Tower Paint, great source for rattle can mixed to your paint code,Ryan Scott turned me on to them. Here are a few pic's of the power steering that IPOR did using FJ60 box and a few or the hood afer primer. I should have pic's of the rear bumper tomorrow, they were down at the powder coat shop today to pickup my bumper and dropping of the front bumper and skid plate. Getting Close!!!!
