That bumper is I am speechless, just a fine work of art and looks tough as nails.....

I got to see that bumper in person a couple weeks ago. Really nice, and well thought out design. lean as hell rig too. Makes me want a 55 even more.

Painted Pig!!

All the panels including the rear bench were done by a local company, Coachcraft in Frederickburg VA . Using my old panels as patterns they made new back boards complete with cut outs for the clips and window cranks. The panels have 1/4 inch foam and matching vinyl I purchased from Scat, the darker vinyl I got from a local craftshop they had a large selection and it was cheap. Coachcraft match the seat pattern from the Procar buckets I got from Ipor. As for the bumper when finish will have a winch protection bar appox 6 to 8 inches above the bumper Piaa driving lights then both front and rear bumper's will be powder coated grey like the factory color. This monday it gets speedlined. I'll post more pic's after thats completed and we get the engine installed. I asked Lance If could get this baby wrapped and stuffed in my chimney for Christmas!! Thanks for the support!

Few more bumper shots

The winch protection bar idea. It will not extend this far from end to end , need to make room for the driving lights and not sit this high.

Thanks again

awsome....keep pix coming.............suggestion, can we make a restoration thread to include luke111/Lou's restore, Marshall's/ trollhole's, 3guppys and scorcher's?....these have been invaluable in my meager restore efforts; i would be totally lost without yall's contributions..........thanks again

Lou

lookin good man.... i was wonderin whos ramjet that was when i was pokin around lance's last month. nice clean piggy! funny how that bumper looked decent sittin in front of an 80 as well.

Lou,

I was down at Lance's today, dropping off a couple things and your 55 is looking nice. The Ram Jet fits great and it sounds like Lance has a good idea, about using a larger Radiator. While I was there they were finishing somethings to get it out to the Speedliners. I can't wait to see how it turns out.... With any luck we both might have running 55's for Christmas.

Ryan.

This is one by man-a-fre that I have been a fan of for some time. This is what I was thinking.. Similar to your concept except it takes a little pipe bending but lance is the man for that :) Strangely I had the idea for a concept like your some time ago but never did it, skimped out and did the simple 2 x 4 bumper in the front on my last piggie. Anyway, looks great :)

Dieselcruiserhead,

That is the same idea I had for a bumper. The one you have pictures is the FJ40 bumper. The FJ55 bumper is a little wider, taller and has swept back ends.

Here is a photo on the FJ55. Really the 4+ bumper from Man-A-Fre looks very unfinished when you compare it to the finished bumper Lou designed. The welds and cuts weren't smoothed before the powdercoat.

P.S. Sorry about the photo size, if it bothers anyone I will remove it.

Maybe by Christmas !

Well, my pig is off to the speedliner. Lance and his crew are ready but not waiting, I'm sure the Christmas list they have is huge. You guy's should check out Hanson Enterprises the have a nice looking stout bumper for a CJ that could be fab for a LC. Exteme Gear Offroad also has great pic's of the Hanson bumper.
