I went ahead and removed the dash mounted lever

I drilled three holes in the trans tunnel. One for the cable and two to hold the retainer.
This is a factory 40 parking brake cable grommet and retainer.

sorry no part number but that is a standard fj40 fitting. Mine looks new because it was replated

Looks like this is discontinued by Toyota now, there was a company that I found on mud Braqequip BQ91, that made one; however, design changed and it does not work anymore.

Found some on ebay, but they are brass.

Anyone have an idea of where to find one?

Finally got my roof top tent on and went camping. This will come in super handy on my road trips. I'm in the process of building an all aluminum rack to mount it on instead of the Yakima bars.

Took the 40 on a 955 mile jaunt this weekend up to North Carolina. First time to see the blue ridge parkway. 18.25 miles per gallon. Could be better but can't complain its much better and more reliable than the old gasser. Sounds better too

Found a ton of trails off the parkway so explored those. Camped at 5400 feet and had a black bear come through camp in the middle of the night. The last pic is the view from the tent. Nice to be off the ground in bear country. I know they could still easily climb up if they wanted but it feels safer than a regular tent. Finally got to try out my zodi hot camp shower too

I agree on the sound thing....that is one of the reasons I drive a six cylinder diesel motor...

Mile high campground. It doesn't officially open until may 15th but the owner let us stay there anyway.

Decided it was finally time to make my console a little more comfortable and finish it up as an actual armrest. I picked up a stadium cushion to use for the foam portion. A heavy duty hinge to make the lid open like a real console and some olive drab green cordura nylon fabric to cover it with. I welded the hinge to the lid by drilling a few holes for spot welds. Then I drilled three 7mm holes in the back of the console and with the lid installed marked the other portion of the hinge, drilled the hinge and screwed together with some stainless hardware with nylon lock washers.

came across these new visors on ebay as well as a new rear view mirror. Mine were perfectly fine but since this land cruiser is going to be a keeper I figured why not replace a 38 year old part for a fresher look since the oem items are still available.
