I would like to get my roof done in as close to blue as possible. So when I get a roof rack I wont have to worry about waxing the roof anymore.

here is my 62 with linex on rockers. It was done about a year ago with no issues
I think can speak to the longevity of Herculiner at least...
I did it myself, used 3 gallons, rollers and brushes, did the whole exterior, took all weekend.
Finished it just in time for West coast Pigrun #2. Forget exactly what year that was, but it's been 5 or 6 years now....
The Herc is definitely "thinning" and allowing the original paint to show through. Assume this is the UV damage we've heard about. Happening more on the driver side, which gets more sun where I park. The Rig has never been garaged, or even washed, in the last 5 or 6 years.
I'm planning on re-painting it any day now...should have done it a year or two ago when I first noticed it.
So, I can say that a user-applied coat or 2 of Herculiner will last 3 or 4 years easily.
I don't take pics of my own rig, I rely on the kindness of passengers. Here's a shot at SnT '07, notice thinning herc near front of hood and drivers side door especially.
I have had no issues with fading, even after a good scrubbing to get mud and georgia clay out.
