Just curious, how long did it take you to finish your restoration? I bet it depends upon where you started but in general, what did it take you? I'd be a lot further ahead on mine if the welder doing the finishing touches on my suspension had a fire lit under his...

Finish?

working on a year and a half and still a long ways from done, When I had a bunch of money set aside for the project it flew now that the cruiser has left me poor it is at a snails pace :D

Hey now, some of us just have more questions than others... :flipoff2: 3680...

Helps that I'm self employed and spend my day in front of a computer....

besides it's the journey blah blah blah....

don't worry I think since i've showed up you've been answering more than you've been asking hah

oh and pupil if you don't have a garage i'd recommend you build one of those first...

3 years to get a driver.... no where near done....... dont think I will ever be.......... but at least it can take it to the lake on the weekends...

I've got a 4 car garage thanks but my boat takes up 2 spaces :flipoff2: and the mustang occupies the other. The misses car and my excursion are outside. Once the suspensions is finished the rig will move next to the mustang. I'm hoping to have the paint done in about a month. I'll work on the wiring, steering and interior over the winter. I'm hoping for a spring run out the garage door.

I posted this thread cause I was curious what others did and how long it took them.

Funny how two things seem to be common...money and time. Don't think that changes for any restoration.

18 months is what it should take to get a frame off complete. This assumes you have the money, spare time, knowhow, and facilities. This also assumes standard rust issues, not a rust bucket. (rear quarters, sill)

About 600 hours... Thats 8 hours per week, over a 75 week span.

I use this number because I completed my 76 restore in 14 months. That was a frame off, full blown resto... But I averaged more than 8 hours per week.

this generality cannot be answered meaningfully whatsoever.

responses will continue to be all across the board as everyone's situation, starting point, scope of project and definition of 'done' are different.

It also depends on how the project deviates from a factory restoration, and what direction changes happen during the process.
