Trying to assemble the door mechanism. Ain’t easy. Getting the handle on is tough. Small screw up in corner won’t go in. It’d been a LONG time since I tore these down. @SLOW71? You put yours together. Was it tough?

I'll weigh in, Pat. Ron's probably still wheeling at SSS2021.
It was tough. If I recall correctly, I may have enlisted the smaller hands of my ever patient wife. I know I did that to get the dash pad reinstalled in the 914-6 after that refurb. Or maybe (more likely) the doors were hung at the body shop. (it's been 11 years and the memory is the 2nd thing to go!)

Those handle mounting bolts for the rear door handle are insane! What a PITA!

I'm thinking about getting an allen head(smaller than the factory bolt) metric bolt that fit's it's place.

Got the mirrors on and the small socket head screw worked. Baby steps. Need to get her ready for the gathering that I’m hosting. We’ve got an RTI ramp and I need to show these peeps what pigs can do!!!

Decided to put front carpet and seats in and DRIVE it around for a bit. Did about 5 miles. Tons of looks… holy crap. Every jeep I pulled up next to the driver just looked nervous
