Thanks for all the input guys. I had a local glass company cut and install for $112. They did cut one corner a bit loose but with the gasket it should be fine. I can live with it.

Same thing happened to mine. Some vendor out there ought to offer a paper "pattern" for the glass for those of us who don't have an old windshield to give to the glass shops. I would pay $20 for one!

I seem to recall Spector sells a paper pattern.
Edit: 120-02B-TMP, $14.95, for the early windshield (65-74) that is no longer available from Toyota. 120-02C-TMP for the 75-84 windshield.

where are you guys getting the gaskets? I need one for my 67.

Still available from Toyota. Just installed one on my 1969.

If you have a glass shop cut your lami for you and you are putting it in yourself, make sure they give it a good seam around the edges. Laminated glass is just(for those that do not know) a couple thin pieces of annealed glass with a plastikmembrane inbetween so it doesn't shatter like tempered glass does.

If you do it yourself make sure your tools are not metal. You can pick up some nifty, cheap , nylon tools at your local glass shop when they cut your lami.

When I did mine I just used an H chanel gasket and before I slid everything in i sprayed everything with glass cleaner so things slid easier.

Did any of you get tinted glass in the upper part?

on mine the whole window was tinted. and they had to cut it twice because the first one was to small.

The one with the blue/green strip at the top that is reminiscent of a '84 Grenada station wagon? Yeah, been there, done that: https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/210538-non-tinted-windshield.html

Suffice it to say that the following part number (56111-90303) is the uniform full pane clear glass which does NOT have the green strip at the top. This clear, "non-shaded" glass looks much better IMHO.

The cheapest I can find a new windshield for my 1970 is about $210 plus tax for glass, cutting, weathersripping, and installation. I've called about 10 different shops and this is the cheapest I've found.

$100 cut from laminate at a local glass shop-used the existing glass for a patterm

I ended up getting a piece of non tinted glass cut, installed, new gasket, everything for $154. I took them my windshield frame and they installed it at their shop which was local to me.

I didn't read through all the previous posts, but, any glass shop can cut one for a little over $100 and its MUCH easier to take the frame off and take to them to install. They can cut and install in less than an hour. Toyota has a gasket or the glass shop will have a universal one for cheaper that works fine unless its a restro for show...
