Non-Tinted Windshield?

I appreciate the feedback and am aware that an auto glass shop could cut/make me a windshield. However, I would like to know, specifically, if the OEM windshield part number 56111-90303 has the blue/green tint or is it clear? I would like to retain the Toyota glass.

Thanks again.

I have been told that Toyota never made a windshield with the tinted strip at the top. Well, they did and I have one. Is this some rare one off piece? I picked it up off a Mudder a few years back because the price was right - came in a Toyota box - has Toyota etched into the windshield. My apologies for nit-picking here, I just want to make sure I don't get the same windshield if I order another. The blue/green strip reminds me of an 80's Grenada station wagon and looks like poo IMHO. Here it is with the new gasket on it:

clear factory glass

i can't say the numbers match but the factory windshield i put in a year or so ago is un-tinted

I need to replace the windshield on my '76. I would like all-clear glass - no blue/green tint at the top.
Does the OEM windshield part number 56111-90303 have the blue/green tint or is it clear?

Thanks

This is per CDan a year or so ago:

There is only one number currently offered, it is a 56111-90303 and it is "tinted". The current list price is $79.54 and your cost would be $59.65. I do not ship glass because the cost to ship it often exceeds the cost of the glass (definitely in this case) and the breakage rate is quite high.

I have one of those green tinted windshields hanging in my garage too. The part # on it 56111-90800. It also says FJ40V on another sticker. Hope that helps.

I have a clear windshield on my 78 that has a Toyota label in the bottom corner... for what it's worth...

That does help. It means that since 56111-90800 has the green strip - 56111-90303 is different in some way and probably doesn't have the strip. I'll take the plunge here shortly and let you know what I get.
Thanks again.

The word "Tinted" means solar tint, meaning the whole glass is tinted a light shade of green. I know as I have all 9 pieces this way new in the package. The windshield you show with the strip across the top is NOT "tinted"

Shane is right. I guess the correct word for the windshield with the green strip at the top is "shaded".

I also believe it is an option and the clear is no longer available, I think.

Any desire to let us know what it cost? I have a need for a windsheild and gasket also.

Thanks for the reply. I must do some dwelling as I still have a lot of expense coming. Cruiser is close to painting now. Planning the paint process. Lots of really nice panels from CCOT. Just how far do I go before it is to far for the trail??? :bang:

The windshield lists for $164.94.
The gasket was around $50 IIRC.

Both the factory price CD's I have recieved from Toyota since the first of this year have indicated a MSRP on that glass at OVER $400.00!

WTF?
