Removed the outer shell, and LP section.

To remove the spot welds, I use a Spot weld cutter kit from MAC tools. They seem to last the longest. 1 in 4 years isn't half bad

You mentioned doing some wire wheel work. Have you guys tried the Eastwood company's Contour SCT? They have a bunch of different drums for whatever surface conditioning you are doing. Nifty tool! Blasted the center section (LP) area and had to install some new 6mm x 1.0 captured nut assemblies for the LP

Lv Tail gate outer shell, getting notched for the hinge area and starting to cut out for the LP center section

Ive been cruiser insane since 97.! But yes I ask my self why do I love this crap? I could have stayed in construction and made real money.

Yeah, once you get to the LV stage of the disease, I am afraid it is incurable..... but sooooo much fun! Especially the driving phase!
