I can’t think of a down side to the tie rod and hydraulic cylinder behind the axle. I use a cylinder with 10” of stroke. This size is matched with the 5”of throw I had in each direction when measuring prior to ordering the cylinder. It’s also the maximum size you can physically fit in that spot.Any clearance issues with hydro assist behind the axle?
Looks like it packages in there nicely.
Any disadvantages to having it in the backside?
Seems like it maybe would take some stress off of knuckle studs not having all the forces acting on the passenger side steering arm?
If your are interested, my hydro assist write up begins at post #380 on page 19 of this thread. The new changes look great! Gives me a few ideas. I've been thinking about changing up my Timbrens, just modifying the axle pads etc. But I also need to truss the axle so I'll probably do that all at the same time. I also need to do hydro assist. I like how you have yours.
I have been running the Hydro assist behind the axle for over 5 years now and when I first installed it it was more like Steve has his but I'm on a lower lift.Any clearance issues with hydro assist behind the axle?
