I see a can of pre-painting prep from Eastwood in one of your pics. Is that just isopropyl alcohol?

I believe it is just that or acetone in aerosol form. Wax remover is another term for it. It's convenient stuff.
The paint has adhered extremely well so far. Both sealants are designed to be painted over.

Do you guys leave the chrome trim off the drip rails? This trim seems to cause more leaves and gunk being stuck in the drip rail.
No useful purpose. Only bling. It is OEM standard but keeping or removing depends on rig intentions.

As blingy as the trim is, I've always replaced mine when one of them gets wrecked or torn off.
The gutter lip is metal with a sharp edge. It is very easy to wear off the paint on those edges, leaving bare steel. Bare steel = rust.
So as much as the chrome is kinda annoying, it certainly does protect the gutter edges from abrasion/ rust.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.... The Eastwood primer is great. I would definitely use it again.
Has anyone tried the Por-15 seam sealer? It seems much thicker than the usual stuff. I wonder if it's easy to use and clean up.

World class job of prep, install and photography. Having said that, since you're in a wet climate, I'd keep an eye on it as the years pass, especially if the truck is parked outside.

many thanks to patrick for posting this info. i'm using the same products for my reseal and especially like that the evercoat sealer uses a standard gun vs. the special gun the 3m self leveling sealer requires.
one tip i can offer -- use a heat gun to soften the old sealer before removing. i used harbor freights $9 heat gun and had all the old sealer out in 1.5 hrs. came out very easy.

All I know is get something with a long enough “working time” so you have enough time to apply it and then go back and smooth it out. I used a 3M controlled flow with like a 2min work time and did it on a hot day... not pretty. But it’s sealed

Those who’ve done this how has it held up. Not sure mines ever been done so I looked the other day and it looked fine. Probably is overdue.
I'm curious too. I'm hoping to get my 62 into a body shop to get some dents and minor rust fixes done (found some spot under the gutter, wuh-oh) and I figure I'll just have them reseal the gutter while they're doing all that so it can be one and done and I can paint the truck.
