What Radiator Overflow Tanks do you recommend and what double sealed radiator cap would fit my stock 68" radiator?
Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

We sell one, which should be back in stock soon. :) It’s stainless steel we weld together in house and utilizes a great reproduction bottle by CityRacer.

I just have a one gallon antifreeze plastic jug jammed in the front corner. I might be on my second one since 1982. My stock 72 radiator has a Stant cap, I have a new 4 core brass rad to install. I'm going to make the bracket so I can use a one gallon windshield fluid jug as the washer tank.
Not a purest by any means but its nice you can buy oem stuff.

Here is a pic of the one offered by @red66toy (Cruiser Cult). It is a really nicely-made, well executed product.

I am not a purist either and mine is a Resto-Mod so I don't care how the job gets done. You get points for thinking out of the box.
I wasn't sure if a double sealed & double valved cap would fit the older OEM stock radiator.
Thanks for letting me know!

So this is what I need to keep my garage floor dry! Well, this and maybe a front seal.

Do you have any additional pics of them mounted other than what is on the site? I’m not sure mine would mount the same way as the pics in the listing.

Edit: Actually I think mine would mount like how @Green Bean has that one.

I was partial to the factory round bottle for many years , and managed to collect over 30 of them before the reproduction ones came out. Then @ToyotaMatt came out with a clean compact rectangular one that I liked enough to offer for resale. I think @majdomo just posted a picture of his install a week ago.

But I still live by the motto that form follows function, and for cheap AND compact, I was impressed by this DIY bicycle water bottle and cage setup I saw at the BHCC five years ago

My antifreeze jug is jammed in right below where that nice unit is in the pic above. I did drill a hole in the cap and run the tube threw to a inch or so off the bottom - It seems to allow coolant to return when cold.

I grabbed a bottle and mounting bracket when I was at the pic-n-pull. I think it was out of a Civic, but not positive. Fits snuggly the front corner of the engine bay. As a bonus, it’s dirty enough to pass as stock….

my OEM genuine NipponDenso little buddy now has a a taller brother

our same exclusive period Correct Gold Zinc plated “ drop down bracket “

this rascal has more Fluid CC to the HIGH Mark then round bottle above by a notable bit … :wrench: :wrench: :wrench: :wrench: :wrench:

And

Made in JAPAN as Always …

i wonder how soon this one will be kopy-kut'd

Thanks for getting back to me. Your website was unavailable earlier. But I only see this bottle and do not see the taller one.

I am also seeing that you have several radiator caps available. Which one would work with your overflow tank with a stock 68' FJ40 radiator?

BIG CAP Only

ALL OEM Big Caps from NipponDenso & TOYO Radiator in JAPAN ...

came factory with a zinc carbon-steel plated keeper chain , they rusted away .......soon

ALL new BIG Caps come with a Factory Pre-Punched hole in the ear .....

still today ...

my Reproduktion keeper chain is Exact-same links JIS-profile , nut ...................solid nickle ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,split rings are brass or bronze

SMALL caps never had a keeper chain ,,,,,,,,,,

@ToyotaMatt I have an early heater shutoff valve tech question: What size and pitch are the threads for the heater shutoff valve and accompanying 90 degree fitting that screws into the head adjacent to the temperature sending unit? The threads for the OE shutoff valve that screw into the 90 degree fitting are different (smaller) than the thread size that screw into the port on the head.

OE Heater shutoff Valve. Approximately 16mm.

OE 90 degree fitting for heater shutoff valve. Approximately 20.5 mm.
