A nice change in the build. T-case rebuilds are fun to me.

Bit of wear on the front output shaft synchronizer. Probably hard to see in the picture.

1922290

Tiny bit of corrosion where the seal rides on the speedo pinion. Plastic gear looks great though.

1922296

Still got to tear down the gear clusters and check them but everything so far is within specs. Not shown on the cardboard is shift fork to synchro hub specs which are very close to being out of tolerance.

1922297

I still got to finish cleaning the cases.

1922295

Half the parts have been cleaned.

Overall it is in great condition for age and miles. I think I will order a few items though and replace them.

I needed to get a catch can for an HDJ81 I am working on so I decided to get a second for the 1PZ too. Reason being is I don’t really want to run one with a filter.

Wow! I am impressed with this, one fine piece of machined billet!

Billet catch can... Very nice...
I also have a 1PZ and have considered installing a catch can....
Dare I ask what that HPD unit set you back ?

I just ordered a 10” LED flood light for the back of the roof rack, bought the kit from Front Runner.

Going to wire it up to a switch and the backup light switch.

Speaking of switches, I ordered a variety of those as well. I would like to keep the light switches away from the locker switches and locations + room is limited. I probably should have just got the aux tank dash top pod and put most of the switches in there. But I didn’t!

:)

I did a lot of looking into catch cans. I decided anything with a filter is a no go and could create problems.

The HPD ones are not cheap at $385 Aussie bucks (great exchange rate right now though) but I think they are top of the line and you get what you pay for. I couldn’t find a single Aussie review for these either that was negative.

1HZ vs 1PZ flywheel bolts.

Pin removed from the crank. The flywheel I have is from a HZJ80.

R151 vs H151, only difference is ID.

Getting ready to replace the rear main seal before installing the flywheel.

Yesterday I spent a lot of time cleaning all the parts removed so far. I also went through all the parts I have on hand to make sure I am not missing anything for this work.

I even cleaned all the hardware, I dislike greasy-oily hardware when I am reassembling stuff.

Three boxes like this of parts waiting to be installed.

One more item to pull and one more cleaning session before starting on assembly. I am pulling the oil cooler as well as cleaning the block.

Just waiting on the crush washers for all the plugs in the cooler cover and I can seal it back down.

Can’t do much more here without the IP back from the rebuild shop.

Installing the pan next and then the flywheel + new clutch.

@SNLC I just got mine rebuilt by them, glad I saw this, now that I think about it I don't recall seeing the seal either, better check when I get home
