Is there any reason not to do it? Like many people on here I'm running 35s on stock gears so the higher shift points are nice.

I'm sure someone will argue there's more wear and tear on certain components so let me here it. But it is nice to unleash the extra 400hp as often as I can :flipoff2:

The only PWR button I have is foot-activated and it doesn't work that well :frown:

I've been leaving it on since i got the turbo. No issues yet :meh:

Mine has been on for 35k miles..5yrs. Feels terrible with it off.

IIRC when the power button is on it severely limits when the TC locks up.

I can tell you from experience that my trans temps are 30-40 degrees warmer when I have the power button on.

I've noticed when I'm going uphill and push the power button the tc almost always unlocks. I want to say that it always unlocks but I haven't payed close enough attention to it to be sure so it doesn't surprise me that the tranny temps are higher.

My Subaru SVX had a power function like our Land Cruisers do but it was operated by how fast and how far you pressed the throttle. I liked how I could kick it on just with the throttle but often wished it had a button to keep it always on. That all changed when I swapped a 5 speed manual it though.

I drive with it on all the time as my DD. With it off it feels even more sluggish.

I use it when I want to summon a down shift but don't want to mat the loud pedal.

Also I dont want to use it all up, so that's why I leave it off most of the time.

I leave it off and drive it like a manual.

I always have it off, especially in the city. I think it's a placebo, except it burns more fuel in giving you a placebo effect. - I have based this all on extensive studies conducted, clearly.

I do not know when one would use it other than mountain passes, long hills or passing. Who passes in an 80?

In reference to the above conditions - The power button does nothing at 4200 rpm in 2nd gear:grinpimp: but you will make it up ANY hill at 65mph;)

I am part time so the diff. in tcase is irrelevant. I just like how it holds the gear longer. Rather than shifting more than it needs to.

I always leave it off so I don't have to refill the Nitro Tank and replace the tires as often

Mine's on 24/7 for 45K miles now. I like the shift pints better.

Since I found that amazing button it has been on 24/7. One time one of my kids accidentally turned it off and I noticed it immediately. I'm thinking the only extra wear may be on the PWR light on the dash....it will burn out one day.
