Power of the engine with 36 whells enough! Use this button only when tow someone's car or trailer.
And often use 2nd :)

My light bulb in the cluster burned out ~7-8yrs ago.

Now SOP is no backlit 'D' or 'PWR' in the cluster.

Run it, it's fine. No worries. Mines been on since like day 4 of buying this 80 - so about when GW Bush was inaugerated.

Since I found that amazing button it has been on 24/7. One time one of my kids accidentally turned it off and I noticed it immediately. I'm thinking the only extra wear may be on the PWR light on the dash....it will burn out one day.

Mine is a blaring green, I dont think the previous owner ever touched it.

Glad to hear that! Looks like I will be after reading yours and all the other posts about having it on for years straight.

BTW did I see that you sold your sage 40th?? Damn. End up getting your 5.7 tundra?

Yeps, the Sage is gone - the dealer gave me a fair # & that plus ~8% the way car dealers work in WA means it's in the dealer network.

It was dead solid, it was simply a 2nd 80 to my "Black Betty" that's only got ~135K, and you know that Nightshadow Blue I have coming my way in the future, so it was OK to let it go. --if anybody sees it, it was solid & a good buy--

Yep to Tundra - I really needed one for the boat, and hauling steel when I hire out work for people. It's newish & flashy, but Black Betty is still my pick in the "house on fire" scenario. But the Rock Warrior I've known since new, was a friend's truck.

The tough day would be choosing between Black Betty & the blue one when that happens - I've modded Betty but the elderly couple have all their records & stock/locked & factory. They even paid me to run it up my lift / give it a once over & work the lockers for piece of mind - it's a peach. Choosing between the 2 would be damn tough.

Definitely seems like a logical decision in that case; albeit not easy.

Best of luck with the Tundra, you should be set for quite a long time with that powerplant.

I do like the Tundra - like I say though, I know what I save if 'zombies are running at me'

I'll need to think on the idea of which 80 I keep though - today was the 1st time the thought dawned on me once the wife can't get into their 80 any longer.

It will be a interesting 'dilemma' to have - and a good looking garage!

Most people on here, myself included, would love to be in the position where that is considered a "dilemma."
