Since day one of this thread I have had more then one person tell me I'm Nuts. Desert racing a 45 ? The Mint 400, King of the Hammers. And now Bonneville Salt Flats and World of Speed week. Thanks to @Trollhole I am going to take this to the next level. Is it going to work ? Who knows. But then we were never expected to get this far. Its going to be EPIC ! I mean really how much fuel is to much fuel LOLOL

Next week things are really going to start coming together. Thanks to our Sponsors Terrain Tamer/Valley Hybrids, Bowfin Cruisers, I will have all the parts to finish the front axle. FC Fabrication has shipped the new rear axle welded gears for the rear axle. Monday Koritas tire will be getting our new Bonneville Bradley wheels and TOYO Tires mounted. Thanks for all the Support

In a geeky sort of way an IC motor can be overfueled wrt power output.

But in my limited experience with old motors that have a lot of cylinder and ring wear is that they can be over-CFM’d because there’s enough drop in cylinder pressure that the AFR gets wacked out with too much available air. Carb’d systems though, with injection and sensors and a computer it’s probably less of a CFM issue. You’ll find out soon!

I like the chart. My thoughts are if I leave the 2 barrel Sniper and we run 96 MPH because we are maxed out injecting fuel into the motor, By using the Sniper 4 barrel if we just needed 5 or 10 percent more fuel to reach my goal its available. I really hope to have the fuel system installed by the end of the week

I have never seen spider gears welded like that, but it makes sense with a c-clip axle set up.

I have a very busy week ahead. Over the weekend most of our parts arrived to get the 45 axles finished. Tires and Rims will be picked up today and expecting temps to be over 100 degrees all week. I had a buddy stop by and he asked what exactly are you shooting for ? whats this going to look like when your done. Well he did some AI thing with his phone and except for the stickers and lights. This is a rough idea of the Bonneville 45.

So what is your MPH goal?
What valve springs do you have? Valve float is probably going to be way more of a speed limiter than anything else you are addressing.

100mph with a 31” tire and 4.11 gear, and 1:1 transmission gear is 4600rpm.

The valve float has been discussed not much I can do about it. My Goal 101.4 MPH and we are running 3:73's in the rear. As far as what springs are I have no idea. I bought this motor from @Ghetto Fireman years ago in 2014 we were told it had been rebuilt. Fast forward it sat in my back shop til 2023 when I had to replace the motor after our Glen Helen Freedom Cup race. 2 King of the Hammers and 1 Barstow race later its still running strong.

Matt is there a mystery spring that would keep the valves from floating.
Or was it just an open-ended question?

Spent yesterday down at MAC Springs in San Bernardino. I am going to have new front springs built as you can see we can't have 5 inch lowering blocks thats just dumb. So spacing out the axle from the frame and allowing 1 inch drop I think we will be close. I will be making shorter shackles also. Next week I leave for Valley Hybrids where Garrett and I will get the front axle built. I got the welded rear spider gears installed from FC. Also someone sent me this pic of some front fender skirts. Interesting idea

Taking a few days to drive up to Valley Hybrids. Taking the front axle and parts so Garrett and I can get it built. Taking the trailer just because I picked up another project LOL

Forklift? 😉

What is going in the whole where the diff goes? If left open, I would think dust and dirt would get in??? I guess with no axle shafts, maybe not a big deal?

Time for the next Big announcement ! The front housing opening will be sealed with a piece of plexiglass. With the limited space Sponsors get first shot at sending me something small, stickers, key chains, anything that fits in your hand. Once all the Sponsor items have been acquired and tagged the remaining space will be open to the public. For a small fee or donation your item will be sealed in the diff and after Bonneville returned with a certificate of authenticity your item was on the salt at World of Speed week. Fuel isn't cheep Retired living on a fixed income LOL
