I can't wait to see this done. I want a 60 body on an 80 frame with a manual tranny so bad. You ROCK!!!

Thanks man...I have a ton of updates I just need to steal the camera from my better half. I hope to get some pictures up this week.

Exhaust and fuel cell are set for Aug 18..

:flipoff2:

I hope to have it started this weekend:D With any luck...

I have to figure out how to wire it, which I am not good at....at alll..

I have to use the 80series 3fe tank since becuase of the frame wont let me run the normal fj62 tank.

the fj62 tank has 4 wires going to it 2 for the pump and 2 for the fuel gauge...

the 80series has 6 wires going to it...and im not sure how to wire it??? I hope to get the lines hooked up today and maybe wire just the fuel pump so I might be able to start it.

I am moving right along I hope to have it done in the next month to month and half...

Hey lowtide, last time I checked 4+2=6. So if the new tank has six wires and the old tank had six wires it probably is wired the same way.

pics?

Will I be able to use the gasser tank form my 62 with the 2H or will I need to move Sheila's tank over?

Sure is...

I am seriously slacking on pictures....I was routing fuel lines yesterday. It is so close to start up...

Bunch more crap done...I'll try to grab some photos sometime this week.

Alright Pictures are long over due...

Although I dint grab any of the new crossmember or 80 series tank in, I do have some from a few days ago...

As for the updates the pictures don't really show...they are listed below

-Front clip has new body mounts welded up
-Engine is 99% complete ( I have to order new vac line from C-Dan and figure out the routing of the charcoal canister)
-Tranny and t-case are in, and the hole has been cut for the floor for the shifter
-Tranny & t-case crossmember has been made
-Bent up some sliders
-80 series full tank now has mounting straps and wiring has been figured out
-and a bunch of other little odd end stuff (plugs, wires, filters ect ect)
-Also steamed clean the interior :princess:

But the good news is Its Alive and Running I had it running the other night with out the exhaust or o2 sensors hooked up...

I guess if I get the new AISIN hubs on this week and a front drive shaft made I can drive it.

There is a still a lot of work to be done though, its getting close...

Yet to do...

-Exhaust system
-Rear Drive shaft
-t-case linkage
-Front and Rear Bumpers
-Two tone paint job
-Cut and cap rear Q'ters
-Clean up and paint axles

Here are some shots for now and I will make sure to grab some new ones this week with more progress...

Thanks....How about an 80 series frame under there? ;)

I have a JD2 tubing bender and 25ft of 1.75 HREW

Finish that rig up drive it over and we will bend some up...

You can pick up a stick of tubing from a local steel supplier, also race shops have it sometimes....But you must make sure you are getting tubing and not pipe and that its 1.75. Pipe is a different animal altogether and is even measured differently, so if did end up getting pipe that was 1.75 it would not even fit in the bender...

Ill let ya know if I get some more and you can throw in for a stick so ya dont have to drive over from G-ville with a stick of tubing on your roof...

Oh costs for making them...couple bucks in grinding discs and welding wire and around 35 bucks for the tubing...

so pretty. its looking good Al
