if cleaned up and painted = chopped and bobbed, then you'll get what you're lookin for

check out the thread "velveeta lite"

So what's up here? Any updates?

I need some more inspirational pics of cleaned up and painted parts. I'm getting kind of weary of the endless grime and rust I'm facing.

Not as of right now, I am finishing up finals and heading to GSMTR. I dint have the budget during the winter to get the parts I needed for it. I went in on a tubing bender so hopefully when I get back from GSMTR and work full time I can strat filtering cash back into it....Target date is still mid summer to get it done.

P.S. Velveeta did go lite....Check hardcore. Might have some pics up today of the bobbed v-wag.

how about this one al...

I chopped out the rear half of the fender and moved it back to make the well fit the wheel a bit better, easy in photopaint, but not a difficult real cut/weld either, and it leaves a stockish line, fabbing up the replacement for the stretched section would be a bit of a headache, but it sure looks better than a hack/flare solution. now we just have to chop in some big tires to get you back to this project...

Glady funny you bring this thread back to life, I was out last night picking up all kinds of crap for it.

I plan on moving the engine back about 4.5 inches this weekend. If that gets all said and done Ill move on to slaping some clutch parts on in.

The project has found a new gear....

we back on for the comp AL???

:D

Full speed ahead!!!

Got the PS box pulled again and the brake lines so I could cut the engine mounts off and move them 5 inches back. I got ransacked by a down pour (its rainy season) So I called it good for tonight. But I picked up more clutch parts today and that only leaves me with the clutch pedal and clutch bucket which is getting hard to find becuase just about everyone parting a 60 out doesnt want to take the time to remove it.

But after I get the engine mounts welded in tomorrow night It will allow me to get a great deal of other things done. Like make tranny mounts, bolting up the entire driveline. Putting the core support back in and hooking all that jazz up.

Picture updates are a coming...

And Glady, thanks for the photo chop, I am planning on just cutting them and capping them like V-wags use to be before it got bobbed. They will also get cover by a wrap around rear bumper..

till tomorrow...

Alrighty got a whole mess of work done.

Got the engine moved back and at the moment it looks like its in the right spot. I want to put the EFI on make sure there are no clearence problems with the hood.

I got the whole dash tore apart and I got the fj62 pedal bucket out and modified to accept a clutch pedal and a 85-87 clutch master cylinder. Normally you would just get a clutch bucket from an 85-87 fj60 but, its hard to get people to remove them because its such a pain. So I got one from Fesus here on mud, it was an 83 which had a different clutch master than the 85-87 years of the fj60. So I had to cut the clutch part of the bucket off and tack weld it to the fj62 clutch bucket. Which worked out great because it was already set up to use the 85-87 clutch master cylinder(because toyota dint change the mold). So there is a shot of the bucket before paint. If the weather is good tomorrow night it should be in and the clutch master cylinder should be in.

I also drilled the fire wall for the clutch master cylinder, and ran the lines to it.

I also installed the rear main, Koyo pilot bearing, resurfaced flywheel, new clutch, and also bolted up the bell housing which has been cleaned and painted. I would have it all done but found out I dint have all the parts I thought I needed. I need the bearing hub for the throw out bearing so I swing in Toyota and ordered it. 67 bucket:rolleyes:

So this week I will have the tranny in and should be able to mock up the tranny cross member. I need some part for the spilt case and I will be able to install that as well. (2wd-4wd shift fork,de-tent ball, and spacer)...

I also got the pedals out to be cleaned and re-painted...And made a new steering shaft since the PS box sits about 4 inches further forward now.

I am sure there is much more I am forgetting but I doubt anyone will read this anyway:D

Mace blow me, get some work done :ban:
