I am jealous of the shop & tools. Us guys who build on gravel & driveways have to get creative and that was my solution for a brake when we needed one so we drove over to a close by dock and it worked, not perfect but hey. Your metalwork is tight. I will holler at ya next time I go back to TN, I'm down in Hohenwald.

Might be headed down to Hohenwald in a week or two.

I am out on Longbranch , stuck in CA. I really like Hohenwald, it's a higher elev and nice little town, suites me fine.

Anyone know if doors off of a 1977 model will fit on a 1973 body?

They should. Doors are very interchangeable, I haven't found a set that doesn't fit a different year.

Thanks guys. Got a friend that has a set he is giving me for free. Gonna take a look at them to make sure they are not rusted.

Even if they are rusted, the later doors are so much easier to deal with. The early doors have so many parts and love to bend / crack at the joints. I've fixed so many of those. The later doors usually only have a bit of rust at the bottom, and you can get patch panels for those.

RIP Dom....

Little work done on “Stretch” today. Got both rear upper sides, windshield frame, and the rear hatch body worked and primed. View attachment 3834654

Stoked for you to see it coming together! Looking forward to heading out with you and giving her a good shakedown run soon enough! 😎

Little bit of work today on Stretch. So when I decided to go with the 4Runner frame, I cut all of the 1973 Fj40 frame mounts off the old frame. Got the original front body mounts cut down and welded to the frame today.

Another round of Dustless Blasting. Got both doors and both front fenders blasted. Epoxy primer tomorrow. Then Sunday is another round of bodywork and 2K primer.

Anyone know of a place other than CCOT and SOR that make lower door patch panels?
