Started Sniper prep. I’m going with a surge pump for now but can move it to the tank if and when I need to. As usual I’m to cheap to buy a pre-made pump. I’m using junk I have laying around to build one. Started with a 74 sending unit that didn’t work. Added a Keg stem to hold the pump. Now need to add some tube

I also cleared some space and added some shelves for Cruiser parts!

Well Fellas, I've been holding out on ya. Here's a big project I've been working on. Me and my fiancé of six years just did an adventure elopement in Moab, Utah. We had to cancel our wedding back in April due to the rona and we decided to tie the knot on the edge of a cliff at Canyonlands National Park. We then spent 10 days touring around Moab, Telluride, Ouray, Silverton, and Durango, Colorado. We rented a Jeep and did a good bit of 4 wheelin too. Pics below.

Congrats!

The honeymoon....if you look above the Jeep in the first pic you can see the ancient petroglyphs.

Oh, and we hired Dan Mick’s Jeep Tours to take us on Hell’s Revenge too! I’m planning on driving my 40 to Moab next year and doing it on my own.

I might have a front shaft. I’ve got driveshafts everywhere. I’ll need to dig. Is the pattern the same across all years of the 80 series? 90-97?
i ended up finding one in a junk yard, im working on getting the exhaust all straight on it now, what a PITA :bang:

Arms and back still aching since Saturday lol
what makes it a bit worse is im not replacing anything at this time, so ive been fabbing everything up and the exhaust is now going to dump right in front of the rear axle. i currently have both manifolds on order. one has a crack and the other broken studs that i cant get out ( not due to lack of effort :bang:) so im at a stand still at the moment

Let us know how it goes afterwards 😂😂 hopefully you can get the old manifolds off first.

they are off, that was the easy part, then i proceeded to start welding nuts to the broken studs trying to extract them to no avail i finally tried to drill the old studs out again with no luck so i broke down and bought new ones

but on a brighter note my downpipe isnt in three pieces anymore

Spent my days off being volunteered to help people move...and chose the coldest day to install some add a leafs to the taco.
Went with the icon progressive three leaf version for the rear springs.
I figured 20min at best after getting the frame and axle into position on Jack stands, with a worse case at 1hr30min. Nope, way longer. I didnt factor in a lifetime of spring center pin install. Made judicious use of the grinder, but I tried something stupid and tried punching the pin out, then drilling. Snapped a few bits off inside. Then i did what I should have done, besides just buy some OME lift springs, ground off the bottom bolt head and twisted each spring back and forth to snap each section of center pin. Then hammered/drilled em out.
The second side took 20min. The first side took 4hr.
I'm sure I'll forget this lesson next time i try this in a couple years.

I am looking to buy some synthetic winch line for Jack's Warn 8274. Southeast Overland seems to be out of commission (not taking orders on their website and the phone number doesn't work) and Iron Pig is out of stock. Anyone have a good recommendation on where I can buy some line?

new manifolds came in and i got them installed, finished welding the rest of the exhaust and ended up using a "flowmaster" style muffler. Everything is installed and took the LX on a test drive last night. No exhaust leaks, truck sounds a million times better and has a nice low rumble to it but overall it has a very tame sound. Very happy this part is done, next is brakes.

@BullRunOverland has been very active with the club recently. Not sure if they carry winch line though.

I bought this:
Amazon product ASIN B01MY2S6HP
I have been happy with it. It has pulled me and others with zero issues. I do plan to replace the hook.
