Power Steering High pressure hose

mine is leaking. Is there a reputable aftermarket brand that is worth buying besides the Toyota one which is $300

You could try a hydraulic hose shop if you have one in the area. I believe the ends may be the challenge. I have a 1995 200k mile used one that was not leaking when removed. $50 if you want but new would be good piece of mind. Pm if interested.

I've been using the Edelmann hose for the last 6 months. It works fine, just move the mounting bracket over from the old hose to the new one. You can get the same house from Gates as well; RockAuto has them both for around $35-40

I bought the gates for $40 from rockauto, it works great, does not leak is made of good quality materials. For OEM price, you could have a custom hose made from a heavy equipment hose service that is construction equipment grade or better.

I put the Gates in my rig about 2 years ago, and have had no problems with it. It's a good quality option IMO.

Here is my solution on my 55. I cut the fittings off that thread into the pump and steering box and had male jic fittings gig welded on so I can get hose from any hydraulic shop.

Gates is good quality. I am about 7 years in on mine. Rock auto has best price; however, NAPA stocks on shelf if you are in a pinch.

Having used both, I would say that, the Edelmann and Gates are the same, come off the same line, so shop by price. Comparing them to stock, are slightly lighter, both hose and steel, not sure that it's significant, all have worked well. For me, this a part where it's not worth huge markup to have it blessed by Toyota.
