I'm looking at buying a local FJ45. I'll be going to the DMV tomorrow to try and sort out the title, or lack of title mess.
I have agreed to purchase it for $3,000 IF I can get a clean title (long story).
Is mostly original (someone did a terrible power steering conversion) but is missing the motor. I have access to a free running 2F, so that's not a huge issue.
I'm just posting up for some feedback on the price. Only took a couple of pictures, but I did look it over real well. I currently own 2 FJ40's, but know very little about FJ45's.
Has a fair amount of surface rust. Solid frame, a few rust holes in the bed. Looks like it's been beat to hell though I'm pretty sure it can be brought back to life.
If I buy it, I will most likely do a frame off (my first). Maybe a mild lift (2 1/2"), disc brakes, electric power steering and a 2F upgrade.
Any advice?

Thanks for the quick, supportive responses. I own two FJ40'S, so I am all to aware of the money and time involved.

This looks to be a '64 if I'm reading a build date chart correctly I found online.

Looks awesome. Do a Clemson and just polish up the stock paint, get it mechanically sorted and drive it. You'll love having a 45.

Smokin' deal, if you can get a title.

Those rims look they have the tabs on them for hub caps, nice.

And I agree cult45, put the 2F in it, buff up the paint, seat covers or new for SOR, and enjoy driving it for a while.

Close. This here is a how-to on Clemsoning: Barn Find 1965 FJ45LPB

Cult you made my day, I am now a verb in the Land Cruiser urban dictionary :hillbilly:

CruiserKreutz, that 45 is a steal! So much potential there looks to be the original paint with a fantastic patina. Clean it up drop an engine in it and engine having the coolest ride in town

Never turn down a $3000.00 45 in that condition. With or without a title.
