Awesome! That's a nice collection you have there. Fuel tanks are difficult to come by. Welcome to 45 land.

Anyone know if this is the original seat color (blue)? Looks OEM, but I'm not sure.

Thanks

Not oem, they were coral! Search the 45 section and you will find a wealth of information!

If I ask a question, know I did some research first (though I'll admit I'm not perfect!). The only colors I saw original to this year were coral or black. These covers are blue with coral edging. I'll try to get a better picture.

1963 thru 1967 us market swb and Lwb trucks all received coral split bench seats. No other color was offered.

Thanks whitey.

I'm just getting to know this rig. Need to clean it out and up. There is a Toyota 4 speed transmission and transfer case in the bed... I'm going to see if there are identification numbers on them and find out exactly what they are. I'll probably be posting up questions. Thanks to everyone for the imput!

Gas tank would be close to a pre 73 FJ40. 72 and some 71s would have extra ports for emissions. The fill neck is the biggest difference. FJ40 neck is a 90 degrees and the FJ45 only 45 dgrees. I have pictures comparing the two on another computer.

So it would appear the transmission and transfer case sitting in the bed of this truck have a production date of April '76 using FJ40Jim's Ovaltine secret decoder ring . The best I could make out the stamp reads 6 D 1562.

So now I need advice!

I have a 2F out of an '81 FJ60 still mounted to the factory 4 speed (no transfer case). I also have the 1976 4 speed transmission and transfer case that was in the truck bed. What would make most sense to put behind the 2F using what I already have on hand? This will be a daily driver (15-20 miles a day max) with very little if any off road action. I have read some threads with similar questions posed, but none exactly like my situation. I think I might need a different bell housing to mount the 2F in this rig

? Any thoughts or opinions welcome... I realize I may need to start a new thread regarding this question.

Got the bed cleaned pretty good. Rusted up, but I don't see any rust holes. Pitted in spots, a few puncture holes and one big hole cut out for who knows why. :meh:

I'm in eastern Oregon, probably why this rig is not all rotted out...

Thanks for subscribing, I suppose I need to start a build thread now that I actually bought it.
