been meaning to post in this thread for a while. kept telling myself i'd snap some pics one of these days... i picked the day the sky was just about the same color as the bedliner on my 40.

not clean, not original, but will start first crank in the sub-zero. hasn't failed me yet, knock on wood. i drive it every day. rain, shine, sleet, snow, or what have you.

Solomrus, nice "ole forty", like the front bumper, that will keep a deer out of the radiator.:D:D

Daily Driver

He's grumpy, green, and really stinky, so I call him Oscar (the Grouch). Bought him in '06 and have spent the last 3 years returning him to the (almost) stock look. Just finished the job in November!

If you dont mind im happy to put up new photo taken 2 days ago on another great camping trip with the wife and dogs.

This section of road was built in 1880! Located in one of the many forgotten old gold mining towns in the Victorian High Country.

Travis.

Travis,

That is a beautiful rig. I like it a lot! I would love to see a thread about it!

I hope to find a 45 to build in a few years, after getting the 40 closer to where I want it to be. My wife and I had a Toyota mini with a little pop-up camper that we never really got to use, before we sold it to get a bigger pickup (Dodge Cummins) and a little bigger pop-up for the more over-the-road trips. I really like the idea of building an FJ45 to replace the Mini though, because the Dodge is just to big and expensive to take to some of the places we like to go. I would like to make it a very self sufficient, capable off-road rig, that would still have the power and gearing to go down the highway comfortably with a pop-up on it. And when it's all done, I hope it's in as good of shape as yours is!

Also Travis,

You gotta get your pics back up where you previously posted!

Finally driving !!

Been 3 yrs but finally driving. Still have lots of work but its getting there. I enjoy taking off in the desert (2 blocks from my house) with my 9 yr old duaghter. She loves to drive the 40. And she does it all by herself!! She likes driving the 40 more than riding her quad. Now thats a cruiserhead!!

ptscustomwrk,

Are those rear panels from a cruiser? Looks like something off an old blizzard or daihatsu taft or something. Wherever it's from... BAD ASS!

It's all Toyota. The older cruisers had the smaller windows like that with the dimpled sides.

Either way it looks very cool.... although I do like the 360° visib in the newer ones.

all your guys fj's look so good. Hopefully mine will look that way one day.

It's no FJ, but here's my 1979 BJ40. I was selling it up until last week when i came to my senses and cancelled the sale. i took the roof-cage off yesterday so it's more aerodynamic now! :grinpimp:
