BASTARDS!!! You've destroyed my dream:crybaby:

I once thought I would own the tidiest 40 series of all.
Now I realise there are others out there with the same damn dream and they've either got bigger chequebooks than me or had more luck!!!!!!

Anyway, I'm not posting a picture of mine on this thread until I've at least finished painting it (which could be another decade away) or got some shot of it with a stunning background. (Maybe I could put the neighbour's cat in the front seat for added interest?)

I just read through this thread for the first time. Some great looking rigs and pics!

Mine is a '76 with an early tub.Stock running gear.A bit of a lift with 33's.I drive it most every day in the summer. The paint isn't shiny but I never worry about scratches.:D

Nice to see this thread come back around, all you newbies need to post up! :D

What did you do to the rear fenders to get them to flare like that? Steel, fiberglass, maybe something like that? Did you fab them up?

Very cool, man I miss "down-under"!

Hey Drew,

Sorry for the late reply.....Yep, the rear fenders are steel.......they were done a couple of previous owners ago.

A piece of steel rod makes the outside lip, then some sheet metal has been welded in, and then blended with bog......They would have looked really good originally, but the bog is starting to crack in a few places now.....(still look good from a distance)

The 35s also scrub badly on the drivers side one......I ended up finding out that the drivers side wheel arch opening is about 1" smaller then the passenger side.......I will be doing a rear spring flip eventually, and cutting them off, then will put some jeep flares on (which I know some people will hate), and they will get colour coded to the rest of the truck.

A nice New Zealand babe in a bikini would get you noticed!

This one belongs to my buddy Douglas, He's a local youth minister and this is his only vehicle. He called me for help when a Sunday ride went bad :)

Here's my 79. Not exactly daily driven with my commute, but it would be if I could afford the gas.

Now that is a picture!! Nice cruiser trekker. Do you really fly that? I mean the plane?

Can't take credit for the cruiser or the fighter. I lifted it from the link in my post.

Becoming a tradition here 3rd year in a row now, clocks go forward an hour, daylight saving, as always the roof comes off and stays off now until March wind rain or shine she's a daily driver, rain coat and hat for those few wet days:D

Not quite a dd but it does get a lot of use around town on a almost daily basis.

My wife's 79 FJ40 but I drive it more than she does.
