Bows are body color ... Unless ... You are talking about the oem folding bows :)

Folding bows did come body color but many of the years were gray ... Same color as the roll bar ... Around front door was still body color

The oem ambi door bows used a silver for the rear door frame sections ... Several years were body color

You used to be able to buy the oem bows that we are used to from the dealer in the usual primer black

didn't read the whole thread ,but have you seen these tops before ,extra material where the bows are
any info about these tops .

Looks like Pakistan tops... very reminiscent of Ehsan's tops ... the snap at the bottom of the side curtain zippers is a tell tale sign

Also overall construction as well is Ehsan type tops... as in the straps in the back ... they are also the Pakistan made type... reinforcing over the bows on the outside

Oem Jerry can holder and the same mud flaps as seen on Pakistan cruisers

I am guessing Pakistan but might not be from Ehsan but the same guys who make them for Ehsan

Not sure of the paint code but it is the original color. I had this top made at a upholstery in the mid 80s. the upholstery shop that mad it is long gone I believe.

Question to all....about the turnbuckles...are most nut and bolted or riveted on? Any recommendation on someone that sells high quality turnbuckles..My softop which is brand new and came installed already has 1 broken off turnbuckle and you have to fight the others to close. Also mine are riveted on which i thought was odd since it also came with a matching hardtop so i could interchange as i saw fit.

@Tony919

They are called common sense fasteners ... toyota calls them tarpaulin fasteners ... most people here call them twist fasteners...

If there are rivited on they are not oem ... somebody used boat version two hole type... they held on by two rivited right?

Oem fasteners # 65928-60010

correct 2 small rivets...are the odcloth ones better then the OEM...odcloths are painted brass...I appreciate the feedback!

Okay, so I went through the post didn't see this combo. This is a 1973 FST, I believe the color is Pollux orange, tailgate/spare bracket has pretty intact paint (min. fade). Just has a touch of rust ;) and a couple of small tears, lol. PO didn't have original doors.

@Judger

The top is a Kayline replacement vinyl top... and an early one ... very nice

The kaylines were sold thru toyota parts as a replacement for the oem tops

They get pretty brittle over time ... just as the oem vinyl does

@JohnnyC

The truck came with some papers, but from different years than this 1973, but it did come with info about the Kayline softtop, but the pictures were different in the brochure. Thanks for the info. My bows are the matching color and the b pillars (I think, the ones that the back of the door latches into) seem to be welded to the tub. Is this normal?

A new top is in the future.

Lol. Yep. I was holding out hope for a freebie I got but there was no saving it. Too much sun and not enough plasticizer. ‍♂️ It was like stretching parchment.

How about we revive this thread with new pics.

My '64 FST, River Blue (T-431) with Buckskin PVC OE-style top from J&A Sewing (formerly sold by Trollhole). Same top, different lighting.

;). I put in an order with Julie just earlier today. I plan to finalize the order Wednesday after double checking my door fit. Same color and finish but on a (eventually) yellow body.

That’s a beautiful truck.

Keep posting those OEM soft top pictures...

WOW! I am surprised how many of you are running your FST's with hard doors. If anyone wants to SWAP a pair of fair condition hard doors for fair condition FST doors let me know I have a pair I am looking to get rid of. PM me please.
