It's a 40, or a cruiser, the FJ Cruiser folks are the only ones that drive FJ's. There were FJ40's FJ55's FJ60, 62's, 70's 80's 100's, etc.
Just thought I should mention it. If I didn't someone would.

I own both.... Should I leave now and never come back ....

Thanks...yeah the idea was to get a Military / Duty look, different form the typical OEM top...and also to avoid a yellowish plastic look within a couple of years....By the way is it enough to present myself here or should I do it in another topic ?

Great looking top! How long ago did you get it?

Spring 2013 if I recall...bought it trough Jim´s sister...Found her on Ebay, called her up, on a thursday, I paid on Friday, since it was a special order without windows, he made me a good price and made it over the week end... the monday he emailed me the pictures and shipped it to me.... Than I needed some hardware pieces not available here in Spain and he shipped me another package a month later.... To tell you the truth I was very surprised to read so many bad things about him later on...I guess i got lucky placing the order through her sister.....
Excellent craftsmanship anyway...looks like it is going to last forever !

Here is a picture of a custom top without any bows. I don't know who made this top as it came with this badly rusted truck. I have a good tub and plan to restore it someday.20130630_174101.webp 20130630_174153.webp 20130630_174212.webp

This was the same truck I posted earlier, but with a 2.5 inch lift and new tires. A 75 FST with Trollhole top in white. White because they came with white tops.

Spent 40 years and a total of 25k miles in California before I bought it and brought it to SC, did a little work and took it to Mecum Kissimmee and sold it a couple months ago. Its now going to its new home in Wyoming. (I posted it up for sale here first and did not get a single inquiry.)

Mud really isn't place to sell a $40K 40 series. Top dollar is for eBay or the auction route you took. The truck looks great!

This is true. Thanks, it really was a cool cruiser. 2.5" and 33x10s are perfect on these things. And I have a soft spot for the FSTs; I really want to see a dark green one with white top, soft doors and bezel.

green w/white :)

Thanks for the pics Johnny. What do you know about that first one? Is that the original top and door skins? Looks like its a 72-74? In that pic, the top and skins look to be a little different. Did they use different materials for the two pieces from the factory? Im guessing that the top in that first pic has been replaced or the doors reskinned, or maybe its just a lighting thing.

10-4, thanks

So 73 was the first year of the gas fill door? In the US anyway?
