Been pouring over lots of threads and thanks to @wngrog and everyone that posted in his steel wheels thread. I came across these on summit and thought they checked all the boxes for me

Check out this page from Summit Racing https://www.summitracing.com/parts/crr-3977760

16x7, 4.00" back spacing, 6x139.7 bolt pattern. About $650 for 5 with free shipping from Summit.

I like that they come in the same size as the popular wheel vintiques 12 series but are already painted black which is my preference. I had really wanted to go city racer and finally talked myself into the 1400 bucks only to realize tax and shipping made them 2,000 bucks. FJ company was 2100 even with a black Friday coupon since they want $800 for shipping.

I just checked shipping from FJ.Co and it was $375 flat rate to CA not $800-did I miss something?

edit total around $1100 including shipping

I checked it last night and they had a credit for 570 for Black Friday and then charged 800 for shipping. I'm in CA as well, maybe their website was messed up?? The total out the door was over 2100. Given how much more reasonable these or the wheel vintiques are I don't see myself going that option

I think 4" might be too much. Have you looked at US wheel?
The wheel vintiques everyone likes are 4.00. I think if you're going with a 15" wheel you need 3.5 or less. 16+ I think 4 is ok but I wanted to check here

I re-checked and a set of 5 with hubcaps was 1500 with shipping. You were correct on 350 for shipping, last night that wasn't the case though.

Not sure about 16 inch wheel but a 15 inch wheel with 4 inch backspacing will just fit but it will rub the tie rod boot in some cases and damage it other Issue is when they hammer balance lead on the inner rim lip they get knocked off by the tierod end so 4 inch backspacing on a 15 inch rim is not recommended.

This is my exact issue now. My current wheels are 15's and the weights smack my TRE's. The backspacing is probably around 4.0". They are old Mickey Thompson's

When I've run 4" back spaced wheels I have had to run 1/4" spacers in the frt.

In this pic I’m running 15x10 4 inch backspacing American racing wheels I used stick on lead on the inner rim but they need to be in just the right spot also as they too will hit the caliper and rip off. I ran them in the end with no lead and they seemed fine even for swampers bias ply. I was lucky mine just touched the rubber boot but never rubbed through it.
I took these off of my rig once I went 4x4Labs high steer as they hit the 1 ton tie rod ends. I needed a spacer which I wasn’t interested in doing.

I had 15x8 steel wagon wheels and a couple of sets 15x10 aluminum wheels with 4" b/s. I ran 1/4" spacers to clear the tre. I think if you search here, you'll find 3.75" b/s works.

I need to check the date code, it's probably on the inside of the tire since that code doesn't make sense. PO said he put them on a year before I bought it, so they are around 3yrs old I think.

For the new size I want to run a 33x10.50 or similar

I'm running 3.125 backspace on 16 x 7 US Wheels on our pair of FJ40s. Spec'd by" Mr. Manny" several years ago here on MUD for disc brake conversions. Bought in 2010 but can't find pricing info.

Can you share the model number? I think my selection isn't going to work for me
