Indeed. That's a Khanjar, a ceremonial dagger. It originated in Oman but you see them in Saudi and I assume other areas of the middle east as well. I have one or two that were given to me. Photo could be in Oman but the Fez made me think Egypt or Morocco.

Won't do it without the fez on...

Indeed. Frame off restoration of old Mercedes gas/water trucks is a thing in the middle east - especially in Saudi Arabia. Maybe this guy kinda sorta married the two? Just a WAG.

Thought hard about buying a cheap old Mercedes Unimog a few months ago out of Texas. Short wheel base with storage cab on back. What base for a project...says a guy who can barely work on a pig

That one has lived a hard life, but probably served faithfully!! These things don't last forever... but almost Somebody should restore it!!!!! I bet if you put some air in the tire and a new battery that thing would fire right up! It is a right had drive so it's probably not anywhere around our parts.
