I like this route for our trip. Looks like we would be at Camp 3 on Friday night. Then people can disperse towards there homes from there on Saturday.
I'm thinking about camping,
#1 Salt Lake 6/18
#2 Gold hill/Callao area 6/19
#3 Lucin 6/20
#4 City of rocks 6/21

We are pretty flexible and can adjust as needed if someone wanted to tag along and had a different agenda.

Looks like a good route. One option could be for those that don't want to head North to City of Rocks, to leave Lucin Camp and continue on the Transcontinental Rail Road to Golden Spike National Historical Site, Spiral Jetty and fuel at Corinne, UT & I-15 @ Brigham City.

Fuel Stop to Fuel Stop Milage Calcs:

***These are calculated going dirt road from Wendover to Lucin Sun Tunnels via Bonneville Salt Flats.

  • KOA to Vernon, UT Fuel Stop 64 miles
  • Vernon, UT Fuel Stop to Wendover Fuel Stop 176 miles
  • Wendover Fuel Stop to Grouse Creek via dirt 89 miles
  • or Wendover Fuel Stop to Corinne, UT Fuel Stop 179 miles
  • Grouse Creek to Almo, ID Fuel Stop 41 miles

Have we talked about radios?

We use the little baofeng radios and they work pretty good for these type trips but also have a handheld CB.

Wouldn't hurt to have a few extras scattered throughout the pack and I could bring a laptop to program them.

Here is a visual of some of the options discussed above; kind of a hybrid Relic Run 2016/2018 with alternate departure routes from Lucin.

We can perhaps setup some tables at the museum and eat there if that is a workable option.

Is everyone good w/ ~$15 per head for R&R BBQ?

Kurt @cruiseroutfit has very kindly offered to coordinate getting the food over to the museum!

It's at 17, but @J Mack has not chimed in.
J Mack has four more big jobs that need to be crossed off before I can commit, god willing that will happen this weekend.

Yes I’m good with the $15.00 dinner and I’ll give Kurt the $30.00 regardless if I make it or not so count me in for two.

OMG. The level of energy that just surfaced is hot hot hot.

If this is where I say count me it, so it be said.

Thanks to all who have just shed light on a good time.

I will be starting the journey on the 15th

No problem with the bbq cost. Assume we'll pay on site.

PS link didn’t work for me.
