I needed to raise the front coils to clear the steering arm cuz they were hitting at full lock (you can see where I trimmed the corner of the arm) & to match the heighth of the newly added lift coils @ the rear. So, I have a spacer in the works. I still have to add the front plate & weld in the coil bases on top. I have 2 more attachment points on the front plate. After that, it's onto redoing the brake lines.

dont think its been asked for a while so im gonna..... how heavy is thing going to be??? sure cant be accused of building it too light/flimsy, thta looks stout!
I have seen this rig in person and from the pics I too thought it looked VERY heavy but in reality it seems very avg weight wise for a Pig! I think to continue to ask this question is like....well...:deadhorse:!!!
Chuck I hope you don't mind that I responded to this q for you:D!

The work looks great dude!

Too bad this beast prolly will never get to see Tellico!

I had to do some massagework on those lower coil mounts, but they are finally done.

I've tried to lighten up the rig some while also keeping what NEEDS to be heavy duty alone. Afterall, this IS a trail rig. I'll get it weighed soon. Still need to buy some parts before I drop it off at a local shop for finishing duties.

X2. Seen it in person. The pictures are very deceiving. The back half of the vehicle is gone. While the parts look big in the picture in reality they are not any bigger or beefier than you would expect to have on a trail truck.

Chuck you have some serious skills. And one hell of a nice guy. Don't know if any of y'all know this but Chuck was the one who donated a majority of the parts I've been giving away. If you ever need a cruiser part make sure you ask me first.

Here's to you Chuck  and your sweet pig. I'm assuming it's gonna have a bottle opener on it somewhere?

Thanks for the  words dudes
I've been back & forth on this :pig: & the 40, I gotta get something running :bang: I just finished adding taller coils F & R & readjusting the links so I'll mount up the tires & snap some pics later today. I'm still trying to save $$$ & sell parts to fund the last few items for this build....
:hhmm:  a bottle opener in a gusset or on the bumper.

great idea. It'll need to be a bit higher up than the bumper. You wouldn't want it to get crushed or packed full of dirt.

If you put it in the right place you could make a cap catcher under it too.

Looks sweet! I had to fix your pictures for you. You must have something set wrong on your camera..
Hope you don't mind.

Chet

I can't wait to see it merge on I-285. It won't be up to speed, but that won't matter! Just start moving over and watch the soccer moms fly out of the way.

i bought some parts from Chuck today and saw this beast in person....let me just let yall know that it is bad to the mother fawking bone! looks even awesom-er in person

Thanks Mookie! It was nice to meet you. I'm glad I had the the parts you needed locally :D
I know this build is kinda stale right now but I'm redoing my steering linkages on the 40 :deadhorse:
Since I added newer lifted coils on the :pig: I have to make a few minor adjustments. I also rethought the steering & I have room to run hy steer so I'll order another arm for the driver side. The passenger hy steer arm will take both the drag link & tie rod so here comes more beefyness for that mount. That way the drag link will be in alignment w/ the panhard.

Update

I removed the new coils & reinstalled the older, smaller coils due to the ride ht. was too high for my liking. I wanted to keep my COG as low as possible & not have to use sway bars. I've been dong some small things like plumbing lines, adjusting suspension stuff, & running new wiring for the added electrical items.
