My name is Todd I own and run a media blasting business in Pinellas County Florida. (Tampa bay) and wanted a FJ55 since college. Had a FJ40and loved it. This is what I just picked up.

1F is factory installed engine
3 speed gear box
Heat delete
Came with a Portuguese owners manual and was brought to Miami from Venezuela.

Welcome to the group! We usually ask a bunch of questions about plans, color, rust repair, but looks like you're all done. Congrats, you've got a looker.
Maybe once I get the fuel tank sorted out and it tuned up and running good I’ll need a steering box to swap mine. It’s got a bunch of play. It’s a manual box. Maybe also do disc brakes and add a roof rack. Other than that DRIVE IT!!!

Welcome. Nice looking pig. Vintage Air makes some nice units with A/C and Heat should you decide you need either. A/C is obviously more of a priority in Clearwater than heat.

Thank you!! I’m really happy with it. Even though I see people classify South American trucks as parts trucks… this one is not.

I’ll give some updates on things soon. I’ve been tracking down correct parts all over the country. I like fixing all the odd things people shortcutted too.
so far….
-complete Tuneup
-new filters
-new brake booster
-new water pump and thermostat housing
-new block drain and muriatic acid cleaning of block
-locking front hubs
-new brake hose kit
-clutch master cylinder
-new clutch
-fuel tank repaired and lined and cleaned and got the sending unit working properly.
-correct head temp switch and housing
-new factory keys cut
- rebuilt the tailgate (seals,terminal strip, regulator rebuilt, new key switch)
-hood latch handle and cable replaced
-new tailight seals
-carb rebuilt and overhauled
-waiting on a radiator
- Sourced a correct fan shroud and blasted and powder coated it the fan, air cleaner and all splash shields.
