Hello everyone,

I am in the process of restoring my 1969 to its original glory. Does anyone happen to have the paint code for the bumpers? Is it the same pewter color as the FJ40s?

I believe it is the same as 40s.

@gonzopancho figured out the powder coat color - Vegas Gold
Wasn’t me, it was @OPMACHINE

It’s not an exact match for the pewter, but it’s the closest available match to the pewter color that’s available in powder coat.

FWIW, the metallic silver paint commonly used on bumpers, brackets, glove box door, etc, is not "pewter." There is no such Toyota Land Cruiser color.

The correct Toyota paint codes for the 4X series are:

T1434 Metallic Gray (1968 and newer)
T46 Silver Tan Metallic (1967 and older--slightly darker)

Generally a fun place to hang in the sty, roll with the jokes and you’ll find some amazin* support for our “disease” in here ❤️

What’s the name and the code, and who’s the guy?
I believe it’s Ash Grey Metallic. Don’t recall the code but @greenbeast Jon has it on one of the cans I sent with the Frankencruiser/Bonnie when he and Kim picked it up. It’s oem on both bumpers, the grille and the vents on both front fender aprons.

Ha! Ha! That’s not what I got out of a sincere request for collaboration. I’m moving on.

One question for help ends up in dozens of jerk off replies- really?
I won’t be posting here again.

Man, the someone here in da sty pissed me off so badly once I wrote to Woody and asked him to delete my account.

Didn’t last. I decided I should learn to roll with it and “trade paint” when it got a little rough.

Wrote back to Woody … still here.

Before that someone here took offense to what I said and told me to never mention his family again. More of a threat. I offered my apologies and we moved on with the fun.

This is fun, right?

Nobody cares if you post here or not so no need to make childish threats about leaving and never coming back… I would suggest if you stay keep the name calling to a minimum when guys are clearly just goofing off and no harm was done.

For your grey bumpers you clearly take yourself and your Toyota way too seriously and no matter what answer you get it’s going to be wrong for your 1969 Toyota. The paint code is nice but that’s doesn’t guarantee your local paint shop will be able to create a close match with that information alone, a 1969 “paint code” isn’t going to be in their system with the products they use and you are always better off taking something down with you when you are ready to order the paint and let them match it. I buy paint from our local Wesco Paint & Equipment 4750 W. Overland Rd. Boise, ID 83705 (208) 331-9882 Hours: M-F 8-5 several times a month and this is the most accurate information you’ve received if you are trying to get an exact match to the original color.

Nebula green is a perfect example of this, every Nebula pig looks correct by itself but no two look alike when you get them together. We all just laugh about it and drive our pigs to the next camping spot because at the end of the day we are just a bunch of jerks driving our Toyotas and that’s the best part of hanging out with these guys down here in the sty.
