I think big rig operators use them. Here's a shot of mine. I'm still working on the interior of the Sprinter.

Also, where are people tapping into for their backup camera?

What wire are people using for the reverse signal?
I ran my backup camera through the driver's door harness into the rear quarter and tapped the reverse lights. A bit about it in my thread... I mounted the camera on the license plate using this camera/bracket from Amazon.

Team, I unfortunately have injured my back again and may have to sell this truck because I'm not sure I'll be able to work on it myself.

Anyone know someone looking for a troopy with a pop top?

I've got no idea what to price this at for a potential sale.

Very sad news

Sorry to hear that. Maybe take some time away from it while you heal and then reconsider?
Maybe. But may need spinal fusion - potential medical retirement / separation from the Corps. Don't know if I'll ever be able to do the things necessary to it that I want to, much less overland in it.

May still keep it, but not sure I'll ever be able to use it properly if that ends up happening.

I don't know what to say Paul. I hope things go in a good direction.

I also hope you won't sell your Troopy. Put it away safely for a while if you have to. Your troopy will wait for you.

And after doing nothing with mine for years we've really been finally getting after my Omani troopy. Just today we dropped the 1HZ in instead of the rather tired 1FZ-F:

But if you do have to sell I am sure you won't have a problem finding buyers. LHD troopys are not that easy to find of an age that you can bring to the US.

That said, our mutual friend just send me some photos of another one he's got for sale:

I'm sure this brings back memories for you.

They may be pretty much rust free but we both know these have lived a hard life. You've brought yours back to pretty much as-new near as I can tell. I'm working on it. So far we've rebuilt with new stuff both diffs, tranny and transfer case, all four brakes and axels, dash, aircon in the cab and, and now the 1HZ with a really nice fresh head. And it is going to get a little Safari turbo. The great things about these trucks is that they are simple and roomy and pretty modular, so there will always be a good demand. Oh, one other thing we did was put in taller 2nd and 5th gears in the H151.

Hope you are feeling better soon Paul.
