Ugh. I wanted to save time by spending money on Planted Technologies seat brackets and they are off. Well, the passenger side at least. I haven't tried the driver side yet. I reached out to them last week and still haven't gotten a reply. I guess I'll be welding after all.

Looking through the forum, I see that people have had similar issues. Hmm.
I was able to contact them directly and they custom fabricated my passenger seat bracket. Kind of annoying because I had to pay return shipping but I understand that they advertise these as "should fit".

I think there is something different about the 75 troopy brackets vs the 75 truck brackets.

I did manage to find the hidden third mounting hole on the passenger side that's used with bucket seats. The first try was pretty much dead on.
I used an 1/8" bit at first and then a step bit.

Well, I was finally able to install the BMW seats with the new brackets that Planted sent me. I did have to weld in to 3/16" thk pieces of plate because the seat rails were wider than the Planted adapters. The seats are comfy as heck but are taller than the stock seats. It almost feels like the seating position in my Sprinter van.

I still need to install a fuse block somewhere under the dash to power the seats. For now, I have a cig lighter harness to adjust the seats. I'll get the fuse block knocked out next week.

Are you still looking for rear tire / gas can mounting location info? I agree that you will need to get some internal support in there.

I was finally able to paint and install the speaker pods and factory door pockets. Man, it's nice having decent sounding speakers again!

Since installing the new rear bumper, I have been having issues with the heavy right door closing on me in certain situations. Luckily, I saw a posting on an Aussie Troopy forum where someone installed some gas struts. $38 later on Amazon and 30 minutes to install them I had an awesome solution! I used the 25 inch long 55 pound version.

Nice - I had a Isuzu Trooper with the same wide door with the tire mount. They had a little strut that locked when fully opened for the same reason. You pulled the door and pushed down on it to release. Hopefully the gas strut does the trick -
