One panel in.
Added vapor barrier with a bit of butyl tape.
Then added all the card clips.
It was easier for me to line up the top pins, push the panel in to get the pins set in the right location, in case they needed to bend left or right a little.
Then pull the card out and work from the bottom up. Lining up the pins 1 by 1.
Yes, it was a nightmare.

Added a light and two tie-downs.
The hanging wires towards the rear are for another light to be placed a bit higher.
Still determining where it will work best.

Working on the other side of the cargo area.
Added dedicated light switch, 12V, USB ports and a cigarette lighter.
Nice to have the lights without the truck on.
Wires dangling from the pillar are for lights.
Not sure where or how I will be mounting them yet.
Need to add the vapor barrier and cut the stall mat before attaching the card.

Also spent a little time making a center console.
It’s far from done. Things are tacked in place until I get the desired goodies added.
Bought the insides from Amazon. The storage area was for a Bronco. It’s two pieces which is nice.
Top will be waxed cotton like I have on other parts of the truck.
Has a cup holder and phone holder. Also have a cup holder that attaches to the passenger side…for my partner in crime.

Earlier in the week removed the trim from the rear seat and painted it black to match the latches.
Today added canvas to the back of the rear seat to touch it up a bit.
I’m optimistic the glue showing through will dry as expected and mot look like a stain.
I like the look. A little later I’ll see if I can wax it for a bit more durability.

Got under the rear passenger wheel this morning.
Started with the heat gun to remove undercoating.
Super fun…Nope.
Only found a couple surprises under the seam sealer.

Got in there with some acid, then cleaned it all up.
Rust reformer throughout, then seam seal later in the week.
Paint scraper worked 10x better than heat gun.

Also 90% done with the center console.

Was able to work on the driver rear wheel well this weekend.
This side was in much worse shape than the other.
Found the paint scraper to be the tool for most of this work.
Scrape, degrease, brake clean, acid wash, rust reformer, seam seal, primer, black matte.
Still need to finish the all the black paint.
Previous bodywork was a little suspect in this area. Seems the fender lip was rusted out and new metal Bondo’d in. It would have been nice to have a clean cut instead of messing with perforated metal.
Oh well, good now and ready for years of service.

I used Klean Strip metal and concrete etch.
Rust Reformer is the rattle can from Rustoleum.
For interior sealer I’ve used Titebond aluminum gutter and seam sealer.

Added a few more touches to the FJ over the last couple weekends.
Hexagon sound deadener for the firewall.
Thought is would look a bit more interesting than it actually turned out to be.
Also the glue on the back of them wasn’t as strong as it needs to be.
3M super 90 helped out.
I’m indifferent on it for the time being.
