Kick panels went in over the weekend.
Hood latch was a bigger problem that is should have been.
For some reason measurements were off 3/4”, but, got it figured out.
Elastic netting on one side and a home made pocket for the driver side with built in sheath.

Very nice, source on the net piece?

@Ol Yeller Sourced from
Amazon product ASIN B0BK951DHL
I purchased 2 sizes.
Small for the kick panels
And a larger one for the rear cargo cards (yet to be installed)

In case others are interested, vapor barrier material, used 8 mil.

Butyl tape.
I actually cut this in half to have narrow pieces of butyl, worked well.

Had a great drive today.
But when moving the 55 out of the garage…might have broke the mirror off. 🤦
The thin metal on the back was torn and the mirror popped off.
No idea how it was attached inside, so pried on it a little to no avail.
So, I figured there was something in there holding the glass in place.
Add a little heat from a heat gun and things started to move.
So added more heat and was able to spin the glass. But then it stuck again. I assume the adhesive cooled and stuck.
Added more heat and spinned the glass this time until it was cool…Money!
The picks were super-helpful to get the glass removed.
In case you wondered what the inside looks like, see below.
Put the frame on, then the glass with some emblem adhesive I had laying around.
Works great!
Whew, expensive as you all know.

Quick update on rear cargo cards.
Was finally able to add a cargo net and the fuel cover.
Added some large washer to the back, just in case someone pulls a little hard.
All attached with stainless hardware.
Don’t mind the wrinkles in the waxed cotton, they will go away with a little heat.
Vapor barrier is cut, vent is cut out, now need to determine where the lights and tie-downs go.

Been working on dedicated lighting solution as well. It will be mounted to the other card.
More to come on that.

Nice job on the rear cargo panels and visors @mn12 !
Interesting thing - I can’t recall seeing anywhere in this thread (been through it a couple times now) any mention or pics of the sunroof.

Yup, there is definitely a sunroof.
I’m afraid to open it for fear of everything that could go wrong.
Maybe someday…when I have a good backup plan in place.
