Buy the correct gasket.
But, your signature doesn't describe what year/model/engine/etc... So, what engine and where did you source the gasket?[/QUOT 1969/1970 fj40 Cool Cruisers. One piece, not like cork. Oil pan. F-engine
I believe it is the correct one but maybe old stock and shrunk some or made wrong. I also bought a master cylinder from cc. It had flat treads. No return allowed.Toyota should have the correct oil pan gasket. I believe the pan mating surface didn't change throughout the history of the F motor. Just the baffle and pickup location.
Hey Stephen, was it OEM? It should be part number 12151-61010I believe it is the correct one but maybe old stock and shrunk some or made wrong. I also bought a master cylinder from cc. It had flat treads. No return allowed.

Did not show. They always claim OEM.If it's not genuine Toyota, all bets are off. Genuine Toyota are expensive, but oil pan gasket jobs aren't that much fun to begin with.
So I should order from Toyota? Anyone online that sells an OEM.If it's not genuine Toyota, all bets are off. Genuine Toyota are expensive, but oil pan gasket jobs aren't that much fun to begin with.
I read and sounds good. I read some place where someone had the same problem and stretched it by heat I think. If it's the correct OEM gasket, use string thru several bolt holes and then a bit of Toyota fipg stuff in the corners.
Before you do all this and get really frustrated at the whole process, go to the 40's section and at the top of the page go to FAQ (frequently asked questions). Look up the thread posted by Poser on installing the oil pan gasket. The absolute best thread on doing this properly and with the least amount of frustration.
It was four months ago so not sure. I believed it to be OEMCCOT advertises an aftermarket for about $15 and an OEM for about $30.
How much did you pay?

They will also leak--OEM ALWAYS--unless there is no other alternative-If it's not genuine Toyota, all bets are off. Genuine Toyota are expensive, but oil pan gasket jobs aren't that much fun to begin with.
