Don't care for the lights on the fenders myself, my .02. You asked:beer:

You should be able to see great when your stuck, Any more than two QUALITY lights is redneck IMO. Get two hella ralley 4000's and give those cheesy pepboy hella 500's to the guy with the s-10 blazer! LOL Nice truck though!

Get some lightforces 170's or 240's, they're adjustable from spot to flood and they're bright. Much brighter than the hellas. They're almost unbreakable. I say almost because I lent them to a friend on his rally car, he ended up running the car directly into a ditch probably around 50mph with my lights mounted to the front of it. Car was totalled, and mostly the lights came out ok except one of the reflectors cracked around the screw base They were still somewhat usable. I don't think you'd be able to destroy them at cruiser speeds

Nice DJ. what year is it?

Been there with 6 Off road lights. One day I realized that it was overkill. If they are driving lights you're fooling yourself that they aid you any more than Hella headlights with upgraded bulbs. If they are flood lights, then they have a functional application, but not with all of them pointed forward. I'm left with the notion that this is more bling than functionality and if that is your motivation then do what makes you happy because our opinion really does not matter. Don't pretend that all of these aftermarket lights are required for night wheeling, because they aren't. I run a 200 amp alternator and would not consider putting all these lights on my rig. But in the end, its just my opinion.

no i just had a hole in each fender where the blinker was so i filled it up. just getting opions everything helps

Based on conversations I've had with drivers with lights on the windshield hinge, you're going to get a lot of glare off the hood when those lights are on.
I think the lights on the finders detract from the overall "look".
I had lights on the roof (light bar) of my full size Bronco. I've removed them because they kept hitting branches etc.
You have a very nice FJ. I love the color and the attention to detail you've taken.

i will when they get wiring. i have not done the wiring yet just working on roll cage need to get powderkoted and put a few more things on then time for wires

I do want to tell you that I really like the attention to detail I see in your photos. If it were my vehicle, I would go with the lights you have on the front bumper. If you ever wheeled in desert washes, you would find that those four lights on the windshield and fenders would take some serious hits due to their exposure. I've broken more than one turn signal lens/housing. If you want to keep the lights on the fenders, then design and build a brush guard to protect them. I think that driving lights on the windshield hinges are a poor location since they broadcast over the hood. Have you calculated what the total amperage draw is for your aftermarket lights? Do you have an alternator that can supply the output required for your vehicle? If not, the brightness of your lights will not be at full output. If you are thinking of the need for lights at night, then unless you are running the Baja at 50mph, you would be better served to install lights under the body to illuminate what you are attempting to crawl over. Just my opinion.

too many

I think they would look better grouped together on the bumper

For lighting my thoughts is to get a few different kinds on there-some spot some flood, i really like some lighting off to the side and a good rear worklight/floodlight

I had some Hellas on my land rover and really liked em they made a big difference on dark wet back roads

Maybe something like this for longer cruising? The lights on my windshield are usually pointed at a 33 deree angle away from my cruiser when I am on the trail so there isn't any reflection on my hood. (local PD doesn't want them to point at angles for some reason so they are straight while in town). The top lights are now flipped and mounted upside down so they are not so tall and protected from overhanging limbs and also turned at various angles so I can see over a 180 degree area. The rack is not always on either, only for long trips where I need a lot of gear.
pismo ready.webp

yes i made the cage. i liked the one from man-a-fre the safari one so i copied it, cheaper then buying it. the design is simple. i just went a little further by putting the tire and jack back there to distubute the weight instead of hanging it all off the back bumper. i think all the weight on the bumper is not always good??? i am not done with it i am going to build a overhead console on it for the cb/stereo before powderkote thanks.

hahahahahahahahahahaha, am sorry but this is hilarious... what about a few christmas lights to go with... i like the cruiser though (not the beige color on the hood).

Could just fill the hole with a body plug or trim plug.

Do those mounts on the hinges allow for the windshield to fold down.

That's one of the best parts of wheeling a cruiser.
