Hey Rutbeer. Thanks much for the offer but i think i am going to go back stock with this as far as brakes and steering. I llooked into it all for the brakes esp, and it came up too far past my budget right now. Budget is kinda tight right now with no job, but boy do i have time on my hands right now. I am taking about 2 months off from a job right now to work on this thing. Heck i still take home almost 2 grand right now in my retirement so i am really not hurting, and i am trying for more disability, got 50% right now, going for 100%.

Thanks again for the offer thogh, will keep it in mind.

Ah, previous owners, got to love them. Spent the day working on the front axle. Got it all the way apart, but as i was taking it apart some of it was in pieces, as in the pinion bearings. They were all laying in the bottom of the housing after i got the third member out, to include the raises. If i was to take a guess i would say that the front was in the rear and went to junk, so they just switched it out to the front and drove on. I'll post a pic here shortly of the front axle housing.

Well, its been awhile since i put anything on here so here goes.

Spent along time waiting for parts to arrive and then got the wrong ones for the most part. You would think if you order springs and shackles from somewhere and they know the year model of your truck they could tell you what bushings you need. No it does not work that way all the time.I now have enough bushings to last for a spell. Too bad most of them will never do me any good.

Well here is a picture of almost 4000. worth of parts taken around x-mas.

Well here go a few more pics of the work i have been doing.

Got another couple of coats on the frame and then went thru the axles completely and built them. Cleaned the brake lines up and built the wheel cylinders.

Started tearing down the engine, it was built before just shortly, so i am just going thru it and resealing it and checking it all out. Right now it is disassembled in the garage. Hopefully putting it back together tomorrow.

Wow looks to be comming along nicely. You didnt happen to get a spring bushing half that fits a stock 60/62 did you? I am one short.

(I may just end up using my best rubber one that is left.)

You got the dimensions you need ? Probably have one laying around from either this build or when i lifted my 60.

I pulled these off of SOR,
Specifications: I.D.=11/16 inch / 18 mm, O.D.=1 3/8 inch, Flange=.265

These are my bushing measurements as well.
inside hole dimension: 11/16"
Outside portion (which goes inside the spring): 1 3/8"
Outside portion that fits flush with the outside of the spring: 1 3/4" this portion is 1/4" thick
1 5/8" total distance from the bottom to the top. or side to side depending on how you look at it.

Looks like all the measurements are the same, I just took a few more than they gave.
I would prefer red, but since I only need one then anything is fine as long as its poly.

Glad I can attempt to clear out a few of you bushings. :) And your build is looking sweet. I love 45 series pick-ups. Did you ever decide on a color for the body?

Keep up the good work and keep us posted.

I will look for you in a bit, for those bushings. Might have to do the same thing i did to a few of mine and ream them out a bit. I have some red ones here. Going for some ice cream right now though, bad day.

Just got done loading the engine in the dually for the trip to the machine shop. Engine needs to be rebuilt, cam bearings are shot, cam is shot and if i am rebuilding everything else in this thing, going to build it now also, even though PO said it had been gone thru.

Gotta luv PO's.

This puts me behind another week.

Are you going to haveb to order more stuff or were you covered with your other order? Wondered how your expereince was with the vendor as I heard you ended up having to wait longer.

Thanks for checkign about the bushing. Yeah it sucks having to ream some. Ones in the frame mount of the shackle were a beast! I dont knwo why though, but I am thinking I will use a drill and work it a little on the next one if its anything like that. They need to be tight, but I was cutting poly beating the bolts through, it took forever. I work slow, but still! Urgggh.. Seems like I shoudl triple or quadruple any amount of time I think it will take to do something.

How abotu the exterior color? :)
And What flavor ice cream did ya get :)

89, Think i have a bunch of your bushings here at the house, want me to mail you a bunch, have at least 1 dozen if not 2. The only part that might be a bit off is the inside, but it looks to be right.

Had a small mocha blast with jamoca almond fudge icecream in it.:hillbilly :hillbilly

Oy yeah got to get some more stuff for this thing now. Going to have the machine shop do all the head work and get new pistons and rings for it. Going to get the cam for it myself. Lifters are still good though.

How much are you wanting for the bushings? I wouldnt mind getting a few. I can always drill them out. (I think)

Sounds like your break was good. And more parts are on your way. :) This is really shaping up.

Pay for the shipping and they are yours. How many you need ? PM me where you want them sent and how.

Well again it has been awhile since i have posted something, not because i have not been working on it, have just been doing a bunch of body work. Not something i think most of you really want to see.

Not too sure if i posted this on here before but here goes. Got told by the PO that the engine had just been gone thru not too long ago. Ya right. Wanted to replace all seals and gaskets and freeze plugs. So i go and pull the cam out because you need to to get the one gasket done and it needed it the worst. Well long story short, cam is cracked and cam bearings were shot. Going to pick the motor back up from the machine shop this week, and then rebuild it. They tore the bottom end apart and they said the main bearings were flaking apart, so i guess i got lucky kinda. Makes sence though, rebuilding everything else on here, might as well do it also.

Ya right now that is just primer on the body, got about another 2 - 3 coats on it before i will consider it enough. I am going to go with one solid color thruout the entire cruiser, both inside, outside ,inside the bed, and under it totally. I am going to go with the mustard color that was on them later on.
