So was speaking with this dude today at work about his new-to-him 80, and we end up talking about superchargers etc. We go to the TRD site and they no longer have the 1FZ-FE blower as listed. Nothing, Nada. Wassup wit dat? Is it no longer available?

Well,

I've sold two in the last month or so and have another inbound.

Based on that, I'd say that yer crack pipe needs a re-light.....:D

Well, are they being discontinued? Why else would they no longer have any info up on their site about it.... looks like it was intentionally pulled down.

Not discontinued to my knowledge. I suspect that they are making room to advertise other products.

I think maybe Junk has been hitting that crack pipe a little too much. It took me 2 mouse clicks to find it on the TRD site.

Of course it says:
4.5L Supercharger, Inline 6, 1FZFE

followed by:
Part Numbers
• 00602-17620-501
- Land Cruiser 1997-1998

Now, to the best of my knowledge a 1997 has a six cylinder and a 1998 has a V8.

I can guarantee you it was not up earlier today. Maybe they were redoing their page or something, but seriously, even doing product searchs or looking it up otherways was not working.

Just wondering, but why is it that the TRD S/C listed won't fit a 94 or 93 1FZFE? Does it have to do with the newer computer having OBD? or different tranny or something else? Thanks

It will fit and TRD makes a kit to re-locate the PAIR valve and air injection rails. The 93-94 wil likely need fuel delivery tweaking as they tend to run lean high mid-range to top end.

On the topic of superchargers. I picked up a 2UZFE with the TRD charger on it and I want to make sure that the installation was done "correctly" I have noticed that there is an additional ECU, was this offered after the Superchager hit the market to correct certain problems? Is there a way to identify it? Just want to make sure everything works correctly.

Thanks,
Ryan.

It's just you Junk, they're trying to keep you from getting another one.

Probably has the same problem at ARB's site

And one of those sold by Dan was to me, I have not recieved it yet due to a backlog at the TRD factory. They are awaiting for a casting piece to completed. Factual Dan?, BTW any news on the ETA?, I have recieved my HG kit late on the 15th and am almost done with the install!

Am I understanding correctly? TRD has returned to supplying blowers for the 1FZ? I thought they had stopped (I assumed permanently) and all that was available was what was on the shelves of suppliers.

Doug,

As Danny Boy will mention, TRD stopped / recalled ALL [dealer stock] the SC for the "UZ" / V8 cruisers. The SC for the FZ has always been available.

Poor "Sintering" technology used on the V8 internals, which resulted in failures / issues - resulting in a unit recall, etc.

Actually the units in dealer stock were not called back, sale of additional units was suspended. No re-release date has been floated and I doubt there ever will be.

The issue, I think, was related to some domesticly produced engine bits, not Japanese. So, the Cruiser motor was not a problem but the truck ones were.

2UZFE Supercharger

Cruiserdan,

This has me a little worried. I just purchased a 2UZFE out of a Tundra with 5K mi on it for my '71 FJ55 swap. The engine had a supercharger installed at the dealer. What can I look for to make sure that I am not going to kill me "new" engine? Is there anyway to get a supercharger install manual? Are the accessories(belts, pulleys, etc) still being sold?

Thanks,
Ryan.

Was this off of Ebay? There was one listed there yesterday.

Yes the engine listed on Ebay yesterday was a mistake. It is indeed the engine I bought. I wrote the seller today and he said that it was listed by mistake. I bought the engine directly from Foster Auto.

TRD Manuals

Check the TRD site, they have manuals that are downloadable.

Thanks for the heads up. When I looked they did have manuals for most of the cars, but nothing for the 2UZFE. I was hoping that someone might have one here.

Thanks,
Ryan.
