MAN! I almost shorted out my keyboard drooling all over the place when I saw your photo! Your rig is AMAZING!!!I hope someday I can get mine to look good. Did you get those mirrors directly from Toyota? Mine is missing the roll bar too, so I've got to try to track one of those down.

I'd love to see more pics of yours!

And you can still fold the windshield down, right? Man, gorgeous rig!

I bought the mirrors from a member
whi posted an ad in the classified section. The arms are from COTT, the mirrors are Toyota. Yes the w/s can still fold down, and the mirror can be folded down to avoid trail rash.

A 71 didn't have a roll bar, you will have to adapt a late model or aftermarket bar.

Here is a link to a nice informative article on the history of the Land Cruiser that appeared in Toyota Trails Magazine. The article documents the various changes that occurred throughout the production period.

Sweet! Thank you!

I was born and raised in Texas. Where are you located?

When we “retired” we moved from Austin to a sleepy little town on the coast.
Speaking of Austin, For the final game of one of the World Series years ago, we arrived at a friends new house after dark so we couldn't see the area, and it was on Lake Travis. The next day my friend and I got up, everyone else still passed out, and we went for a short walk. Much to our surprise, all the sudden there was a sign saying "Warning, nudity may be beyond this point". LOL, our friend bought a house super close to Hippy Hollow!

I was born in Dallas and grew up in East Texas.

I know, right! I'm trying to decide if I should keep it, or remove it. What do you think?
When it arrives I am going to take the GIGANTIC front bumper / brush guard / cattle guard / deer guard / Smart Car guard / jaywalker guard / electric only vehicle advocates guard / ex-wife guard / mother-in-law guard off the front of it, and replace it either with an original, or shorter than original bumper for extra clearance off road.

If anyone would be interested in the front bumper / brush guard / cattle guard / deer guard / Smart Car guard / jaywalker guard / electric only vehicle advocates guard / ex-wife guard / mother-in-law guard, let me know.

Thanks

am I the world's newest sucker?

Not by a long shot brother, not by a long shot. Anybody in this genre has taken a hit at one time or another. Some a little bigger than others. You my friend, did well. BTW, nice Indian.👍

I have evaluated that stout bumper, have run all of the engineering calculations both forward and backward, and have come to the unfortunate conclusion that it wouldn't stand a chance against a certain mother-in-law. :)

Haha, my 40 came to me with a similar abomination of a front bumper. The previous owner was crazy and obviously was learning to weld on the fly. That thing was barely held together with booger welds the size of marbles and was embarrassing to look at. Probably would have shattered if it actually hit anything. Chopped it off, built my own bumper and never looked back. Good luck with yours. 👍

Good call on that bumper. I looked for a while for a decent looking deer bouncer, as I see a dozen or more grazing next to or crossing the road every tine I leave the house. Purists hate my bumper. I think I even need to add some over rider bars for more protection.

The jumped on need to jump back.
Show us the WENCH that came with it.
My spelling is also terrible.
Welcome to the madness.
I have family in Sabestsin.
I've got this pic of the front end, can't tell much about the winch. When it ships and gets here I'll take a good hard look at the winch and take some good pics. If you guys in the forums think it's worth keeping, I'll hold onto it. If not, I'll find one. Sabestsin is about 2 hrs 12 minutes west / south West of me. I'm in Auburndale.

See front end pic:

NICE looking rig!!! I can't wait to get mine and get started on it.

Oh, and I forgot to include "zombie apocalypse guard" in my list. LOL. If you know anyone that might want it, let them know. Being originally born and raised in Texas and many rancher friends over the years, I'm guessing mine was on a cattle ranch because of how far out to the left and right it goes. Ranchers do that to keep the stupid cows from rubbing up against and / or damaging anything.
