Got some more wiring done today. Wsh washer pump is connectored and pinned as are the back up light wires, cowl led wires got extended, signal indicator wires are extended and tested, i wired up the cluster and threw on some plugs (ran out of 12 pin connectors so i used a 4 and an 8)... Lost track after that.

I used a few scotch bottle corks to plug up a couple holes on the ds dash left over from the old ignition and whatever else and stuck a cool aluminum warning label on the rad. Plan to sort out some relays under the dash tomorrow and maybe hook up some switches. Gonna be a pain workin under the dash i can see my hands all cut up at the end of the day.

Lol theres 2 man! Bottom one is a Laphroaig quarter cask cork and the upper is either a highland park or bowmore.

Got some more wiring done on monday. We are extending wires and replacing connectors under the dash now. My job was to swap out the old trailer connector lookin plugs on the heater, hazard, interior, and 2 light switches while pete made the new ignition wires and connector. Pete started dicking with the sunfire fuse box and the wires we need are replaced and run.

Gotta look to see if i have a good lights/wipers harness on my spare column since the one thats on there got a little messed up during the build. Would be easier than making another one.

Otherwise ive been dicking with the sixty trying to get it ready for summer. I did find a buddy who has an older suburban overhead console with sunglass pockets and dome lights that i might try to mount up to the roll bar... Should match up allright since its an older squarish one.

Thats it for now till our schedules match up again.

Well, the 40 wiring is at a point where my buddy is gonna finish it up. All the wires are extended, all the connectors changed to doisch plugs so Pete gets to do all the relay/diode bs since id be in the way lol.

Test fit the burban console in the metal tech cage and the whole thing fits surprisingly good. All thats really needed is a trim where the console meets the b pillar hoop. Planning to make a lid for the top of the console so water is kept at bay and a couple attachment points to mount her up.

Also decided on a color for the tmr bead lock rings since i dont really like the green thats on there now. Toxic orange/mango tango for the win! Just have to talk myself into tearing the rings off the rims which sounds like a boat load of fun. ..

Dammit its been too long and i just wanna drive the mofo!

Nothin real huge in the update dept. Been getting the 60 ready for summer with new tie rods and king pins. Finished that and then ripped the bead lock rings off of the new 40 rims. Couldnt stand the ugly green so they got shot with the mango tango and some clear. Got a hawse fairlead for it and am just waiting for the synth line to show up. Might mess with the overhead console today.

Gonna try to throw the bead locks back together today. Maybe itll be less of a pain in the ass than i think. Probably not tho.

I like the orange. Do you have course or fine spline pinions? With fine spline I think the front axle will hold up. The rear will be close to maxed out with those tires. I think you'll find yourself asking for just s few more inches of axle width with big tires like that. But looking forward to seeing what it does as is.

Thanks man. Was s pita for sure, hope they hold air lol.

Front axle is an 86 bj60 fine spline w 529s and i have cromo birfs and axles for it. Rear is a stocker fj60 w 529s but i think i might have a line on an 80 series full floater to swap it out with. For now Im gonna use 1.5" spidertrax wheel spacers f/r but if i get the 80 axle ill just use them in the front. Tires are 39.5 krawlers, not red label like i originally thought but blue label which is a good thing as they might last longer....

Was lucky and i managed to get permission for a visit with the 40. Didnt do much besides throw the new winch line and fairlead on.

Managed to find a parts 80 series down south with a rear axle and im headin that way with a buddy on tuesday so im gonna bring tools and take a look. Hoping one of the guys in the toyota club down there can check it out for me beforehand. Looks to be a 96/97 80 series w a little front end damage, had trouble understanding the guy i spoke to but what i got was is the 3rd is sold but the rest of the axle is there. Hopefully its what im lookin for.

The 80 axle will be a good fit if you have plasma cutter... if not prepare for lots of grinding and cutting. I'm about 6 hours in on cutting all the brackets off mine, and have about an hour and half left.

Yeah ive got a little plasma to hack all that junk off. Just hope the axle is good to go.

Drove 4 hrs down south to grab this jem. Couple buddies had junk to pick up down there also so i got to ride i petes 2015 taco. Everything went smooth and dude charged me 150$.

Planning to cut off the brackets tomorrow, we stopped at tmr on our way back so i got some fancy new shock mounts and leaf pearches to eff with.

Anyone know the part numbers for the shorter third member studs? This thing was locked so its got 5 or 6 long assed ones, gonna check the price if theyre too much new ill rape em from my spare 60 axle....

Go to the hardware store and get some 10x1.25 studs or get bolts and cut the heads off
