Yeah yeah. Slowly but surely. My buddy has been busy with work junk so we get to work on it one day a week if that. Hes doing a very nice job, got his hands on a shrink wrap label maker so all of the wires are labelled, all connectors are of the sealed doishch sp? variaty and most of the looms have been run. All thats really left is the junk under the dash.

Besides wiring the front got lifted 3.5" with zj coil spacers then after i realized it looked and was stupid we rearranged the spacers so the ds got 1.25" of lift and the ps got 3/4". This got rid of the lean the van had and as a bonus the spacers have lips on them to center the coil spring. The ds front brake line got extended, e brake got adjusted (works mint btw), hood spear got blasted and powder coated, best top window channel got installed... The window channel came with holes for self tappers to secure it to the w/sh frame but since I just finished filling holes and painting I didnt feel like using them. New holes got drilled in the channel that meet up with the hard top bolt holes which makes a lot more sense if you ask me. The irony in all this is that the frame Im using had the self tapper holes drilled in it when I got it but why have 2 sets. Trollhole full bikini in black is on its way which ill probably need since itll probably be snowing by the time I TRY to drive er home.

Bunch of other small junk also got done but its kind of a pain not to have it at my place. I have to plan what I want to do when Im at Petes and make sure I bring everything I need to get those jobs done. I always seem to forget something though lol.

Ill post up some pictures when I get them uplinked on the photobuckets.

Will you be restoring the plow as well?

I just might have to if my other buddy who bought it who is also a Pete ever gets around to mounting it to his chev. Might have to make some brackets and redo part of the blade thats rusted through. He got a tractor so I doubt he'll ever use the thing. I was debating buying it back from him and mounting it on the power wagon.... Wonder how the s***ty front end on that thing would hold up to plowing lol.

At least now that the 40 isnt here ive had time to bring that dodge pos up to par. Got some 35" duratracks and a set of factory 2500 steelies I painted flat black on it now. Also found out the front end was fawked after trying to get it aligned so on went new ball joints tie rods and a wheel bearing. Have an appointment to get the exhaust manifold gaskets changed so it doesnt sound like a bag of assholes and then it should be done.... for now....till the next ball joint goes. Swear to god I have to invest in some dynatrack bjs and a free spin kit for it.

The sixty finally got wheeled last saturday. Did mint but she suffered little more body damage. It now has a nice fist sized dent in the corner of the rear 1/4, the rain gutters are a little more tweaked at the rear corners and a damn stick poked a chunk out of my pass side front fender vent and dented the fender. Oh well it was a pretty great run w good friends. Im just afraid its gonna look like that ultimate adventure dudes crumpled sammy before I get to givin her some love.

Yeah yeah. ..... No its not lol.

Gettin antsy man, notice the bare trees and leaves on the ground in some of the pictures. Im hoping I can at least drive it hime before the mofos start dumping salt on the roads. Then park it for the winter.

D

Ok we got our first dump of the white s*** the other day and theres salt on the roads so I think its gonna spend the winter at petes place. Kinda crappy but on the bright side ill have a lot more room in the garage so I can start on the 40 hard top and do a couple things to the 60. Pete lives out in the bush so if we get everything finished up we can rip around his back roads without worrying about salt.

So my buddy rob had a set of 6 to 8 lug adaptors he wasnt using and he dropped them off the other day.... May as well try the 40s from the sixty on for s***s. I wonder how theyll fit. Rims should clear, the steelies on there now are 2.5 bs with a 1/4"spacer up front. The 60 has 4" bsd rims and the 6 to 8s are 2" thick so im figuring id end up with 2"bs if I havent smoked too much crack.

If they fit allright I might just grab a second set of adaptors so I can swap the 40s back and forth. Wonder if the 2f will push em lol. The 529s should make that doable... maybe.

D

Still havent had my court ordered visitation day with the 40... Starting to think Pete is planning to keep it and is just trying to make me forget it exists. Hes probably telling it I dont love it anymore and I drink too much to come see it on a regular basis..

The second set of 6 to 8 adaptors came in the other day but I guess the package was dropped and one of the studs bent. No big deal since I wanted longer wheel studs anyway. Got 33 new studs (always buy a spare lol), popped the old ones out and pressed the new 3/4" longer ones in. Had to drill all of the stud holes out to 19/32 for the new studs but I actually micrometerized and measured for once, BOUGHT the right bit and everything turned out good. Kinda proud of myself.

hey D, just caught up with the 40 build ... :smokin: ... that ding on the 60 is in a weird, seemingly protected spot, lol ... just goes to show, the wheeling Gods will find a way ...

Hey!

Yeah, wierd spot for sure but we csi'd it and have a sequence of events plotted out that led up to the incident in question. Basically I was lazy and not paying enough attention wheeling some tighter trails. Came too close to a fallen tree and instead of backing up I said fawk it cause Im a genious like that. Tree rubbed along the side of the van then hit the swing out upright and got stuck there pivoting against the rear 1/4. Didnt even stop to look at the damage then, later when I remembered to check near the end of the run I didnt even see it. Came away thinking i was a lucky mofo.... until I saw it 2 days later when the van was in the garage. Oh well, thinking that j lo van ass needs some trimmin eventually anyways.

I'm OCD enough that it would drive me nuts ... that 60 is a sweet beast ... haven't been on the boards much, but love the 40, even if it has a few more warts than I thought ... can't expect too much from a 37 yr old truck, I guess ... looking forward to seeing your 40, if Pete lets you have it back, lol ...

Well the lawyers got everything settled and I got to go visit the 40 yesterday. Had to help Pete start insulating his garage so I loaded up the 40s and adapters and we tried them on. Gonna have a good aproach with them on lol and the whole 40 looks lower even though its really taller. Looks "right" now. Well soon....

Looks like theyll clear and look sick to boot. Got all excited then tried to throw a front one on and figured out the adapters dont have a big enough bore to clear the hub. Dammit. Gonna bring em to the machine shop with a spare hub and see if they can bore em out a little, now that I got a teaser I wanna run them lol.

Rear

Front

Tried trollholes top on and it fits good. I think my cage must be a little longer than the other cruisers Ive seen with his full length bikini since it just to say reaches the c hoop at the corners. Otherwise fits great.

Best shot I got w the top on..

D

Yeah I love it. The front 2 adapters are at the machine shop now so hopefully thatll work out. Im just hoping that the old 2f and 529s will push em...

D

Hey flip! Just finished going through all 1000 pages of your boat tail build on rrr, you have to get back on that thing man.

Yeah the low range will come later when and if the motor proves to be reliable.
