Got it started again today (the choke absolutely has to be sealed shut to do so) and noticed a small puddle. Seems the water pump threads have given up the ghost. I kind of remember them just hanging in there when I reassembled it a couple years ago.

Drill and tap to next size bolt - or do the ++ TIME-SERT Official Threaded inserts for stripped threads, blown out sparkplugs, - https://www.timesert.com/ back to standard. On occasion I have used the adjusting screw on a threading die to cut oversize threads on a larger bolt with the threads peeled off to the correct size for the new oversize threads.
Time sert is the only way to go. I have used them on many different things. I recently used some on a 3vze head. The P.O. had damaged two of the spark plug holes and two exhaust manifold holes pulled threads when I removed the studs. They aren't cheap but they are the only repair method I would trust.
@projectTuRD I don’t know if this will help…I have used this for metric ID’s on occasion for bigger sized pieces

Ordered the time sert last night. Bolts are still good (they were new when I replaced the water pump a year or two ago).View attachment 3900802

Don't forget some FIPG on both sides, a thin coating. I don't know why but these things always seem to weep without it.Looked through my leftover head gasket kit from a couple years ago and I have a new water pump gasket.

Any suggestions on where to find a water pump gasket?
They’re NLA, so cruiserteq is out, vintage teq not responding to text (I don’t blame him, I’m pretty annoying), and city racer’s inquiry page doesn’t want to work for me.
I’d make one, but I doubt I can scrape the one I just used off in one piece to template. I may have to though.
