Just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. I've been lurking around and reading the forum for quite sometime now and finally decided to register.

My name is Jamie and Im located in Central Georgia (USA not Eurasia!) and work in the wildlife industry. I've got an 88 FJ62 with 160k miles on it. Purchased the truck off of Atlanta craigslist about a year ago and the truck had been neglected and not driven for quite a while. I brought it home cleaned it up and had a major servicing done to it. Recently Ive added Brand new tires, OME Shocks and Steering Stabilizer, window tint, new sound system, and completely stripped and cleaned the ENTIRE interior..No more fried chicken grease on the seats and carpet. Its got a little bit of rust on the rockers but I'm planning to order new patch panels this week and get them welded in right away!

I am now driving the 62 daily and still have a long list of things to do to it. Also, thanks for all the advice you guys share on this forum.

Here are a few pics of the truck..

Very nice! Welcome to a great community of Cruiser enthusiasts. Thanks for saving another worthy 62. Did you recarpet the interior or just clean it, or just leave it bare?

Thanks alot!

I took the carpet out, pressure washed it, and also used a "household carpet cleaning/vacuum thing" on it and it looks like new..There were a few discolored spots that I just lightly sprayed some SEM graphite spray paint over and you can't even tell they were discolored. The factory insulation under the carpet was shot so I just dynamat-ted the crap out of it.

Yes, welcome! Nice looking truck and this site will be a great resource.

Welcome!!

I love that 2-tone paint job on these trucks, it looks so good.

Welcome - that's an unbelievable amount of great information and an equal number of helpful people.
I'm near Athens - I might see you on the road. (I have a red 60.)

Great looking 62

:flipoff2:Welcome! :flipoff2:

Glad you brought another 62 to life. Looks great so far, pics of interior?

Thanks! Heres a few below.. Ignore the ugly gray floor mats that don't fit well!

interior destroyed lol! Good looking 62! Hey I did the same when I bought my 60 so I'm gona yell get the cruiser corps seat covers if your a fabric and not a leather seat kinda guy! They are amazing and made my cruiser look brand stinking new!

FJ60, FJ62 Seat Covers / Front & Rear Kit - FJ60/62 - Brown - Seat Covers - Seats - Interior

The interior is in much better shape now minus the drivers seat..If I could find a passenger side bottom seat cover to put on the drivers side I'd be in business.

Sweet '62! Check out the 60 series FAQ's and there is a thread about "best mods under $50" I recommend. Welcome to AA for Cruiserheads!

Good to see another GA cruiserhead. I'm up in Cumming, but hunt a lot down south of Butler in Taylor county. Maybe I'll see you on the roads.
