Hey guys, it's r0adki111 here. I am the guy with the ebay ad. Hopefully I can answer a few questions here for you guys.
This top is molded after the original oem top. So that being said, the bulge, and look is the same. The rain gutter is part of the top, it is all one piece. There is a lip on the inside that matches the size of the original oem steel rain gutter lip that sets on the top of the vehicle, this is not removable and also part of the one piece top. You do have to drill your own holes and provide your own hardware and re-rivet the holes across the front section above the windshield.
The finish on the outside is a very smooth surface (I wet sanded, waxed & polished the mold personally), the inside is a fiberglass cloth texture. It is not the same texture that you will see on the inside of a boat, kayak, or back of a bathtub with all the random fibers. It is more like a sheet with a low thread count. It looks nice and can be used with no headliner if you wish, but a lot of people are just rhino lining the underside too.
Also available is a replacement lip for the front. This is also fiberglass and very strong. There are sides and a back available too (all fiberglass, does not include the glass windows), but I am not 100% sure on the production speed on those.
My buddy makes a few different fiberglass products out of a shop and has basically hired me to help with taking phone calls and selling these tops locally and over the web. I am a wheeler myself, but I drive an 84 Toyota 4runner. I familiar with the FJ40 and the owner who actually makes these tops owns one himself.
We can make about one a day at the moment and one is being made every day. We can't seem to keep them in stock or build up any inventory because they are getting sold so fast.
If you guys have any questions, please feel free to call me and we can discuss further.
I am on my way to his place in a few minutes to get some close up pictures of the new one he made yesterday and I will post them here for all to see. Thanks for your interest and stay tuned!
