New Fiberglass FJ40 roofs on ebay anyone know about them?

its nice to have another option, looking forward to seeing an install write up. I need to see how it goes and what i would need since i dont have a hardtop at the moment.

I just visited the shop and talked to the guy making these, great guy, and has a cruiser sitting outside the shop.

Anyways the tops look great, I was concerned with strength of the the rain gutter, but not after looking at it in person, these are great tops, I ordered one today.

I guess if you didn't like the rain gutter and wanted to put your's on it, it could be cut off, and drill all the holes?

I could not get mine fixed or even fix it my self for this price. The guy seems to know his fiberglass and I don't think that price will last.

Oh and it is MADE IN AMERICA by a small business ++++

Made in America by a small business is the biggest plus, if it comes to me needing to repair mine I will just buy theirs.
 
virus warning

The video web site has a potiential problem. My virus protection kicked it out as having a malious content and a known threat.
 
If it came down to repairing an original versus replacing, I prefer not to be part of throw away society...

I noticed the rain gutters don't have the cutouts for the rain to actually drip out. Is that actually the case, or was I just seeing things?
 
Do you think the fiberglass rain gutter would be strong enough for a roof rack?

Also, are there any plans to make just the rain gutter portion for those of us who have the cap but the gutters are rotted out?

I also stopped by today and checked it out. If I was in need of a top I would buy one today. I have a gutter mounted rack on my 40 so I was also concerned about if it would be strong enough to hold the loaded rack. I highly doubt that you would ever have any troubles with it. Looks very strong. The guy has been doing fiberglass for a very long time and know what he is doing.

Thanks for the good word guys. Also I just want to assure everybody that the videos are NOT viruses. Maybe some av programs think mp4 files "could be" a potential threat. I assure you they are not. All I did was film with my phone and upload to dropbox. If the videos keep throwing virus flags let me know and I will try to convert to flash or put on YouTube or something. Thanks again :)

It is about $1200 for an entire top. The sides do not have cutouts for the corner windows, although this may be an option in the future.
 
Working on a website here: www.fj40tops.com This is a quick site I just made up this morning. It is functional and ready to use. I am adding videos and will be re-working it again soon. I just wanted to get something up for people to use. Thanks.
